en plats för nya och experimentella konstnärliga processer där konstnärer kan mötas, utbyta idéer och träna sina färdigheter. Vi tror på vikten av att skapa en gemenskap där konstnärer kan dela sina idéer och erfarenheter med varandra, och där de kan stödja varandra i sitt skapande. Koreograferna Nefeli Oikonomou och Sebastian Lingserius startade studion år 2023 och arbetar med att forma den till en central plats för samtida dans och koreografi med en mängd olika aktiviteter. We strive to be a meeting place for artistic creation and serve as a creative hub for dance and choreography. Here, a space is offered for new and experimental artistic processes where artists can meet, exchange ideas and practice their skills. We believe in the importance of creating a community where artists can share their ideas and experiences with each other, and support each other in their creative endeavors. Choreographers Nefeli Oikonomou and Sebastian Lingserius founded the studio in 2023 and are shaping it into a central hub for contemporary dance and choreography with different activities.

“Tectonic is a choreographic work on the seen and unseen forces that shape our world. Set in a kinetic landscape of suspended metal plates, the work situates the dancer’s body as part of a larger ecology of forces in motion. In tune with the deep vibrations of the earth, the body morphs through states of compression, release, friction, and gliding. Movement folds and unfolds – the dancer’s own geological layers are uncovered as gravity and pressure negotiate with the ground.”

Aftercenter (Eftercenter) starts its first international round of after-residencies. Last week, we made our first visit to Bora Bora to see the work of Mirko Guido (ITA/DK), who we are happy to announce will be participating in the programme.

Mirko Guido will have an after-residency at SAND Dansstudio in April with his work TECTONIC, which premiered at Dansehallerne on 27.01.2026 and at Bora Bora on 04.02.2026. ‘’A sensory landscape unfolds where body and space collide - echoing the powerful rhythmic shifts in the Earth’s crust.’’

In September we had Björn Elisson in residency at Eftercenter (1-19 September) at Sand Dansstudio.

He participated with his work Sanctum, which premiered on the 31st of August at I parken i Tantolunden, by Weld.

Björn Elisson was trained at the Balettakademien and at the Choreography Department of the University of Dance. An early interest in art and poetry runs through his choreographies. He has had a long-standing and close collaboration with the poets Marianne Linder, Johanna Ekström, and Eva Kristina Olsson. Despite a personal approach to imagery and rhythm, Elisson is keen to regard the dancers as collaborators in the unfolding of a work.

Sanctum was the first of three planned site-specific works (indoor/outdoor) within a project under the working title “Platsen” – the project is a collaboration with the dance collective Räserbyrån. During his eftercenter at SAND Dansstudio, Elisson chose to experiment with an indoor version of the solo Sanctum + with a new work “Väktarna” together with Per Sacklén and Hans Nilsson.

Han medverkade med verket Sanctum, som hade premiär den 31 augusti i I parken i Tantolunden, av Weld.

Björn Elisson är utbildad på Balettakademin och Danshögskolans koreograf linje. Ett tidigt odlat intresse för konst och poesi genomlyser hans koreografier. Han har haft ett långvarigt och nära samarbete med poeterna Marianne Linder, Johanna Ekström och Eva Kristina Olsson. Trots en personlig syn på bild och rytm ser Elisson gärna dansarna som samarbetspartner när verket växer fram.

Sanctum var den första av tre planerade platsspecifika verk (inomhus/utomhus) i ett projekt under arbetsnamnet ”Platsen” -projektet är ett samarbete med danskollektivet Räserbyrån. Under sitt residens på Sand Studio har Elisson experimenterat med en inomhusversion av solot Sanctum + med ett nytt verk ”Väktarna” tillsammans med Per Sacklen och Hans Nilsson.

He participated with his work ‘A Message To my Childhood', which premiered on 2nd of May at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern Skärholmen.

Fredrik Quiñones is a versatile and acclaimed artist in the contemporary dance scene, known for his dynamic expression and ability to seamlessly weave together different dance styles in his choreographic work. With a unique personal artistic language, he moves freely between genres.
His career spans stage, film, and fashion. In film, he appeared in Dancing Queens on Netflix, where he both played the lead role and was responsible for the choreography. As a choreographer, Fredrik has also created works such as Donde mis ojos te vean (Dansmuseet), Dark Water (on tour with Riksteatern), Tickling Triggers (Company C in Washington D.C.), and A Message to My Childhood (Stadsteatern Skärholmen), which was his first solo performance.

Fredrik Quiñones är en mångsidig och hyllad konstnär inom den samtida dansscenen, känd för sitt dynamiska uttryck och förmåga att sömlöst väva samman olika dansstilar i sitt koreografiska arbete. Med ett unikt personligt formspråk rör han sig fritt mellan genrer.
Hans karriär sträcker sig över både scen, film och mode. På film medverkade han i Dancing Queens på Netflix, där han både spelade huvudrollen och stod för koreografin. Som koreograf har Fredrik även skapat verk som Donde mis ojos te vean (Dansmuseet), Dark Water (på turné med Riksteatern), Tickling Triggers (Company C i Washington D.C.) samt A Message to My Childhood (Stadsteatern Skärholmen), som var hans första soloföreställning.

Last week Adam Seid Tahir started their residency at Eftercenter (26 May-6 June) at Sand Dansstudio.

They will be participating with their work ‘‘Dawn’’ which premiered at MDT on May 15th.
Adam Seid Tahir
Adam Seid Tahir (they/them) is a choreographer and creative technologist. Their two
roles involve crafting performative work, web-based work and more.
Seid Tahir is interested in runology and the idea of an Afro-Nordic folklore. Their work tries to retell the history and mythology of the Nordic land on which they grew up and still live on through a q***r Afro-diasporic and post-anthropocentric lens.
All of Seid Tahir’s works deal with the personal and mythological as political. Through this they construct emotional and sensory fictive worlds where they critique certain societal constructions. In other words, they use fiction to create resistance, question and distort different subjects and realities.

Seid Tahir has presented their work in contexts including: Kunstenfestivaldesarts (BE), MDT (SE), Kampnagel Summer Festival (DE), Tanzquartier (AT), Dansehallerne (DK), Emergentia (CH), Bâtard (BE), My Wild Flag (SE), Dubrovnik Summer Festival (HR), Dance Umbrella (UK) and more. They continuously work with other artists including: Meleat Fredriksson, Lydia Östberg Diakité and Amina Seid Tahir.

Förra veckan började Adam Seid Tahir sitt residens på Eftercenter (26 maj-6 juni) på Sand Dansstudio.

Hen kommer att delta med sitt verk ‘‘Dawn’’, som hade premiär på MDT den 15e maj.

Adam Seid Tahir (de/dem) är koreograf och kreativ teknolog. De arbetar i två roller – dels med sceniska verk, dels med webbaserade format och andra uttryck.
Seid Tahir intresserar sig för runologi och tanken om en afro-nordisk folklore. I sitt arbete försöker de omberätta den historia och mytologi som präglar det nordiska landskap de vuxit upp i och fortfarande lever på – genom ett q***rt, afrodiasporiskt och post-antropocentriskt perspektiv.

Alla Seid Tahirs verk rör sig mellan det personliga och det mytologiska – som något djupt politiskt. Genom detta skapar de emotionella och sinnliga fiktiva världar där de ifrågasätter och kritiserar samhälleliga konstruktioner. Med andra ord: de använder fiktionen som ett sätt att skapa motstånd, ställa frågor och förvrida olika ämnen och verkligheter.

Seid Tahir har presenterat sitt arbete i sammanhang som Kunstenfestivaldesarts (BE), MDT (SE), Kampnagel Summer Festival (DE), Tanzquartier (AT), Dansehallerne (DK), Emergentia (CH), Bâtard (BE), My Wild Flag (SE), Dubrovnik Summer Festival (HR), Dance Umbrella (UK) med flera. De samarbetar löpande med andra konstnärer, bland annat Meleat Fredriksson, Lydia Östberg Diakité och Amina Seid Tahir.
