AllArtNow

AllArtNow AllArtNow is considered to be the first independent collective space in Syria for visual arts, multimedia, and contemporary arts since 2005.

In 2019, we entered a new phase and established a temporary space in Stockholm. AllArtNow is considered to be the first independent collective space in Syria for visual arts, multimedia, and contemporary arts. Co-founded in 2005, by artist Nisrine Boukhari and curator Abir Boukhari. the initiative aimed to create opportunities for Syrian artists and the development of contemporary art practices in

Syria by creating an artistic exchange with other countries. A neglected house in the old city of Damascus serves as AllArtNow’s laboratory for art: it is a hub for contemporary art and serves as a meeting point for local and international artists. Since July 2012, AllArtNow closed its door in Syria to open it to internally displaced Syrian families and started to act as a nomadic space and have been invited to various institutions around the world. In 2019, we entered a new phase and established a temporary space in Stockholm to take part in the art scene in Sweden

The exhibition explores a space where the intimate and the structural meet without resolution. Ola Nilsson approaches the domestic not as stability, but as a site where memory, absence, and perception remain in motion. Inspired by Édouard Glissant’s notion of trembling thought, the works consider instability as a condition of understanding — where vibration, oscillation, and shifting positions become forms of knowledge.

At the centre lies a gesture of return. Photographs taken in the artist’s mother’s home after her passing hold a moment that resists closure. The room remains unchanged, yet emptied. Presence becomes absence; loss is embedded in the structure of the image itself.

Through rhythm, repetition, and subtle shifts in perception, the works invite the viewer into a cycle where what appears withdraws, and what disappears returns.

Rather than offering resolution, the exhibition opens a horizon where absence is not an end, but something that remains with us.

Celebrate the beginning of 2026 with us, alongside a group of artists whose paths have crossed with AllArtNowLab and Extension Art Space.

Some of them work with us repeatedly, while others have joined us recently. Their artworks intersect as an ongoing conversation of their creativity.

This exhibition considers time as something we inhabit rather than observe, where artwork carries traces of what we experienced and resonates with what is and what may come.

As the year starts, we welcome you to gather, reflect, and explore our future collaboration.
