Characters We Care About Have you ever played a character that felt like a costume? This workshop builds characters from the inside out, through body, impulse, and emotional truth. Characters that resonate are not invented—they are uncovered.

Maria believes the body knows before the mind does. Rather than starting from concepts, she builds from body awareness, emotion, and connection, allowing character, subtext, and story to emerge in real time. Her teaching asks performers to notice what is already happening, trust it, and follow it further.

Unscripted Horizons is a new two-year Creative Europe project, bringing together improvisers and theatre artists from Europe and the US, with Stockholms Improvisationsteater as one of the participating companies. In the project we will explore how techniques from acting, directing and playwriting can be adapted to improvisation — where characters, stories and performances are created live.
