We’ve been big fans of The Mission from the very beginning. Our musical journey started in the late seventies and carried us through the eighties, the glorious nineties, the rise of the rave scene, and into the 2000s. Back then, genres mattered far less than they do today—a good track was simply a good track. Music first.
From early Bowie, Joy Division, New Order, Killing Joke, The Mission, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Cabaret Voltaire, Talking Heads, Gary Numan, Human League, Visage, and Soft Cell…
to KLF, The Shamen, Leftfield, Primal Scream, The Orb, Orbital, and Underworld… These artists have shaped who we are and how we listen.
We’ve never let go of that inspiration. So when “Wasteland” resurfaced in our conversations, it rose to the top almost instantly. Once the idea spread through the collective, it didn’t take long before we had isolated Wayne Hussey’s iconic vocals and began crafting a new interpretation—one that carried the essence of the Floormagnet aesthetic while honoring the spirit of the original.
Wasteland has always been special to us, wrapped in countless memories and formative moments. We create music out of love.
The rest, as they say, is history. This remix became a true labor of love—our way of reconnecting with a track that helped define us as both artists and listeners.
Our take on “Wasteland” is a deep house track with an acid edge wrapped around Wayne Hussey’s unforgettable voice.
Wayne gave it the 👍 and was flattered. Although he wrote; “If you didn’t mind I could social media it and see what kind of response it would elicit from the usually quite conservative Mission audience. And I call them conservative with absolute fondness and appreciation” — huge thanks for that The Mission 🙏🖤

Thanks to our wonderful friend and plug-in guru Sonic Charge for sharing it with our idol Wayne Hussey 💚🖤💚
Our remix of the magical track "Wasteland" by The Mission. A track that has been with us since it was first released and we are very happy that Wayne Hussey likes it so much. 🙏❤️
