Sista veckan av En linje, en k***a och ett hörn på Härnösands Konsthall !

Så fint att få göra den här utställningen tillsammans med Marie Dahlstrand och Alexandra Severinsson , och så roligt att få visa våra verk på denna fina konsthall.

Är ni i trakterna, passa på att gå förbi och kika! Utställningen pågår till 22 augusti.

Our three weeks at Tenjinyama Art Studio have come to an end. It's always a little sad to leave Sapporo. We really love being here, and it has been wonderful to come back.

These weeks have been intense, with two exhibitions and lots of time in the studio. My focus has been on experimenting with paper and exploring new materials and techniques. Working faster than I normally do, and with techniques where I can't fully control the final result, has been challenging, but in a good way. It has pushed me to trust the process a little more.

What I'll take with me most, though, are all the wonderful people we've met and spent time with over the past three weeks.

Thank you to everyone at Tenjinyama Art Studio Fun for another warm welcome. And a special thank you to Kanae Takahashi for your friendship, and to 志賀ヤスヒロ for generously sharing your knowledge and opening the doors to Shiyashica. You all made our time in Sapporo very special. Until next time. ❤️

Superposition is now open at Tenjinyama Art Studio .

Created together with sound artist the exhibition brings together collage, architecture, and sound to reflect on migration, memory, and the stories we create to connect distant places.

The exhibition presents a series of collages created from Korean and Japanese paper, rooted in observations of Sapporo. Alongside the collages is an installation centred around a birdhouse inspired by the city's architecture. It is inhabited by the elusive Facade Finch (Domiornis gothosapporensis), a fictional bird said to migrate only between Gothenburg and Sapporo. Though never seen, its presence is revealed through birdsong from within the birdhouse.

Together, the works invite visitors to reflect on the invisible connections that shape our experience of place.

Yesterday I spent the day at learning how to tuft for the first time. It was a lot of fun, and was a great teacher.

The finished pieces will be part of my exhibition 街のかたち (Machi no Katachi / "The Shape of the City"), opening tomorrow at 15:00 at Shiyashica in Sumikawa, Sapporo.

Our first week at Tenjinyama Art Studio has passed.

So far, I've been experimenting with paper and testing new techniques. I finally tried the Korean technique Joomchi and absolutely loved it. I've also fallen in love with Yamato glue.

Joomchi is a Korean technique where different layers of paper are bonded together using water. The paper is then kneaded so that the fibers bind together. This makes it possible to create collages without using any glue.

For this technique, Korean Hanji paper is used.

After kneading, I flatten the paper and leave it to dry. With each attempt, I manage to get it a little flatter. But I think a few wrinkles are part of the charm of this technique.

For the Japanese paper, I have been using Yamato glue. It is a non-toxic, tapioca starch-based nori paste that dries clear. It creates a completely different expression compared to the Joomchi technique.

And I love the green plastic tube.

Nu är , och min utställning En linje, en k***a och ett hörn invigd på

Vi har haft en fin vecka i ett soligt Härnösand. Stort tack till .nordlander.frisk , Sara och .aemting som stöttat oss hela veckan. Tack också till alla som kom på vernissagen igår.

Det har också varit väldigt trevligt att lära känna . Hans fina utställning Infinite Scroll visas på första våningen på Härnösands konsthall.

P.S. Lite roligt att kunna säga att jag ställer ut i rummet bredvid Henri Matisse och Marc Chagall.

After more than a month of renovating the new studio, it feels amazing to finally start painting again. There are still a few things left to finish before the space is completely done, but I guess you also need time to truly settle in. I’ve really missed painting, and it feels so good to be back at it again.

Final brushstrokes in my current studio.
After 14 years at Nordostpassagen, it’s time for a new chapter in eastern Gothenburg. In April and I take over the new space, first some fixing, then back to creating.
