electriXmas Based in Malmö, Sweden, electriXmas is an alternative/electronic music event. electriXmas 2024

There will be no electriXmas in 2024.

It’s been a hard decision and the reasons are many, not least of which being that recent years have been a tough economic climate for everyone. This has meant that it’s been increasingly harder for music events, especially in the alternative scene, to be economically viable. And by “economically viable” we mean "break even and cover all costs". Contrary to what many people may believe, events like electriXmas don’t make massive profits. In fact in many cases they run at a loss. None of the people who run electriXmas, who work hard and invest many hours of their time, actually get paid or even have their own costs covered. We are going to take this year off to reevaluate the event and it’s future. To all of our regular attendees who year after year come to electriXmas regardless of the bands that are performing, we thank you wholeheartedly for your dedication and support. We really wish there were more people like you. We’re sorry to disappoint you this year. If you want to support the event please feel free to make a supporter donation. Your contribution will be gratefully received. We’ll be back later with more information regarding what happens next.

We're on a roll here now!... 10 years after their debut performance in Sweden we are delighted to welcome back BLACK NAIL CABARET to the electriXmas stage!
BLACK NAIL CABARET is a Hungarian dark pop duo formed in 2008 consisting of Emese Arvai-Illes (vocals) and Krisztian Arvai (keyboards).
The band originally formed in Budapest, spent a productive period based in London, and later returned to base operations in Hungary.

The duo blends new wave, dark electronic beats, and vintage analog hardware with contemporary pop, often describing their sound as "visual synthpop" or "synth noir”. They represent a fine balance between vintage and modern, building a bridge from new wave to contemporary pop.

Now a fully established darker synth act their sound has taken electronica listeners by storm. Not only due to the eloquent use of hardware and interesting melodies, BLACK NAIL CABARET has a gripping stage presence to this day and are well-known for their dramatic performances which at times involve theatrical elements such as performers, dancers and handcrafted costumes.

And while we're at it, here's something for all you post-punk / dark wave fans 😎

Again, another artist that's been on our wishlist for a while...

ASH CODE (it)

ASH CODE are at the forefront of modern darkwave: rooted in ’80s cold‑wave tradition yet dynamically evolving. Their catalog charts a path from existential introspection to kinetic club energy. With global touring credentials, high-profile festival slots, and growing influence (acclaim, media coverage, industry accolades), they’re a potent force in the alternative music world.

Formed in Napoli, Italy, in January 2014, ASH CODE emerged when singer/programmer Alessandro Belluccio and keyboardist/backing vocalist Claudia Nottebella completed two demo tracks ‘Dry Your Eyes’ and ‘Unnecessary Songs’, previously begun by Alessandro’s other project. Shortly after the online release, they brought in Alessandro’s brother Adriano Belluccio to play bass.

ASH CODE blend darkwave, post‑punk, synth‑pop, and EBM. Their sound draws heavily from early ’80s icons Depeche Mode, The Sisters of Mercy, New Order, The Cure, utilising drum machines, powerful analog synths, and Fender VI bass to evoke deep emotional resonance.

Well, it was about time we got around to giving you some news about this years event... sorry for the delay, it's been a busy year so far! 😅

So... here you are, the first artist has been on our wish list for a while, but they're hard to pin down at the end of the year. Now finally, we're delighted to welcome them to the electriXmas stage!

SOLITARY EXPERIMENTS (de)

The Berlin-based futurepop giants SOLITARY EXPERIMENTS have been among the most successful acts in melodic electro worldwide for over 30 years now, consistently distinguished by their captivating melodies, powerful danceable beats, and the unmistakable harmonious vocals of their songs. This also includes the powerful lyrics that seemingly manifest into catchy refrains and impressively demonstrate style and skill.
With their now six studio albums, three remix compilations, a classical album, EPs, various single releases, and a live DVD, they have reached both the scene charts and the Media Control charts, and with numerous club hits, they are a staple in DJ playlists.
In addition to their celebrated headliner tours and concerts across Europe, Mexico, Canada, and the USA, they are also regular and welcome guests at all major scene festivals such as the Mera Luna Festival, Amphi Festival, or the Wave-Gotik-Treffen.

Another unique and personal highlight was also their participation in "Gothic Meets Klassik" at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig. Frontman and singer Dennis Schober presented selected songs from the band's repertoire there, impressively dressed in classical attire, together with an orchestra.
The year 2024 was entirely dedicated to their 30th anniversary, which they celebrated with two sold-out shows at the Kulturbrauerei Berlin.
With unwavering passion and innovative strength, SOLITARY EXPERIMENTS continue on their path and will continue to captivate their fans worldwide with thrilling shows and new musical highlights.
