Halfway through our six performances, here are some of our favourite photos from this weekend!

Thank you to yet another wonderful audience last night, who clapped and laughed and cried in all the right places; and a special shoutout to the audience member who travelled from Germany to see us, because he was so excited to see The Heidi Chronicles performed live - Chiyu, you made our night! ❤️

Our final crew, three days before the premiere, is the one tying everything else together: our Directors! 🎭🔥

Being both an English teacher and a second-time director at NT, Jonna (rascal on the left) has doubled up on her favourite things this year - talking and analysing. She has found immense joy in the many discussions about such an intelligent play during rehearsals, in marketing meetings and when picking out the perfect songs to sing during the shows with the music crew.

During the day, Finn (rascal on the right) works as a doctor at Malmö hospital, while at night, they don the guise of director for this Nearly Theatre production. Though they have previously only directed one other play, they fell for the quick dialogue and heartfelt core of Wasserstein's script on first read, and simply had to be part of allowing it to come to life!

With only seven days to go until opening night, meet our Coordination Crew! This is Nearly Theatre's version of producers - the crew who tie everything together. 🎭

Having been part of most crews since NTs very first production, Hanna (red coordinator, looking contemplative) loves hearing from all of them and coordinating cross-crew efforts. They also play Heidi, and between coordinating and rehearsing lines, they've been reading bell hooks, attempting to grasp the nuances of feminist struggle during Heidi’s life. In between theatre and theory escapades, Hanna works at a library and as a children’s drama teacher.

This is Martina’s (blue coordinator, looking optimistic) second production with Nearly Theatre. Her highlight this time around was helping provide some of the costumes for the actors. The downside? Not having nearly enough time for theatre due to studies. But she’s now one step closer to becoming a high school teacher, so that’s pretty cool.

Kelly (green coordinator, looking determined) likes puzzles. For this production, they get to enjoy both the theoretical puzzle of helping a production come together as part of the coordination crew, as well as the more physical puzzle of making props and set pieces in the props crew. Outside of NT, Kelly often spend their time on other creative endeavours, such as drawing and writing.

With TEN days left, meet our Fun Crew! Making sure the rest of us don't get too focused on the work involved in making as impressive a production as possible, this crew is all about the process! From karaoke and jeopardy to board games and a disco, they've made this production a great ride. 🪩🕺

Tyra (in white and black, noticing that you are in need of a new groove) is a big fan of having fun. Finding herself in the fun crew, the props crew as well as the actors crew, fun is had all around especially when playing the character of the lively, driven and inspiring Susan. In her spare time Tyra dabbles in various art forms as well as figuring out what to do with her life.

Alex (in blue and red, making the boogie happen) delves into a lot of storytelling, whether it be through acting, books, movies and tabletop role-playing games. In this production, he gets to inhabit the character of Peter Patrone, while also contributing to the tech crew’s enhancement of sight and sound, and the Fun crew’s arrangement of tom-foolery for Nearly Theatre throughout the production period. It’s a pleasure to create opportunities for creative play at these events and it’s been very engaging to explore Peter’s relationship to the world around him throughout the rehearsal period.

Rebecka (in green, bringing joy to the floor) is a Nearly Theatre newbie who has cherished every second of the creative process and all the groovy new friendships. As part of the Fun Crew, she has reminded everyone to “boogie down” and have a “jolly good time”. She has also loved helping actors feel Funky Fresh with the Costume and Make-up Crew. In everyday life, she digs being involved in artistic group projects and slaying dragons in TTRPGs.

With just TWO WEEKS 🤯 to go until our premiere 🎭, meet MARKETING, the crew who's been here talking to you THIS ENTIRE TIME 🤩 (it's us!! hello!!! 👋)

Been putting off buying your ticket? Nothing would make us (MARKETING!! 😍📢) happier than an uptick in sales right after our crew photo 👀 just saying 🥰

Without further ado, this is us:

By not working on his tendency to accept roles of responsibility when prompted, Marcus (flabbergasted by how well our flyers turned out) has been working in the Fun, Marketing and Props crew for this production. As per usual, Marcus has exceeded all expectations of human creativity by creating truly inspired art with said crews. When not making art with NT, Marcus is studying to become a teacher.

Agnes (photographing you!!) is guest-starring the Nearly Theatre crews Marketing and Fun, and loves to provide the production with a blast of a party between everyone's hard work. In her free time Agnes enjoys all the little beautiful things in life, creative and active – although mostly sunshine and her dog!

Majs (pink-haired and glittering) has been a part of NT since its founding and has taken a few different roles, all from acting to head of marketing. This production, in-between a full schedule of studying to be a game developer, they have been the resident photographer of the marketing crew.

On Tuesday, meet the next crew: FUN!

Only SEVENTEEN days left until our premiere, and here is the crew that is perhaps the most excited for our move to the stage next week: our Tech and Music Crew! 🔌🎶🎭

Hannes (in the back, keeping track of everything on his phone) has been a part of NT since 2022 and is now back working (and/or playing) in the tech booth where he belongs! In this production as an actor and in the tech crew, he really gets to see all sides of this production!

As a fan of button-pressing since childhood, Alicia (flower knitted sweatshirt, keeping track of time) enjoys the occupation of Official Theatre Button Presser (otherwise known as a member of the Tech Crew). This time around, she is excited to take part in the tech crew specifically for the opportunity of working with lights, projections, and music simultaneously.

Vynn (in the back, philosophically looking into the distance) is an enjoyer of art and artistry in all forms, and bounces between them like a rebellious ping-pong ball. For this, their third production with NT, they have happily bounced back into the music crew. Outside the theatre, they are just as likely to land in game development, creative writing, or collaborative storytelling.

Linna (blue sequin jacket, dramatically looking into the distance) has been part of Nearly Theatre since 2023 both on and off stage and this is her second time working in the music crew. Outside of theatre Linna is nearly finished with her studies at The Academy of Music to become a music teacher and vocal coach.
