It's a beautiful spring day today here in Cumbria. I have wanted to have a go at for ages, but time has got in the way. I discovered the other day that her first theme for this year was Scandi Style, so I really wanted to have a go! Last week's prompt was Faluröd Stuga. Faluröd, meaning the distinctive colour Falu red - the colour of many houses in Sweden. Stuga, meaning cottage or cabin.
I drew this little red cottage on Procreate. I also added some Dala horses (dalahästar) for extra Swedishness, and some daffodils for spring cheeriness. Although some of the daffodils are out here in the northern bit of England, I don't think they are in full bloom in Sweden until mid-April. I really loved working on this prompt!

As I have started the challenge mid-thread, I might have to work backwards and forwards through the prompts, but we will see how I get on.

Have a lovely sunny day!

Hello! I finally finished my drawing of the lovely cottage I saw in Liden in northern Sweden in January. The snow was very thick on the ground when I was there, but now the snowdrops (snödroppar in Swedish) should be poking their heads through the snow.

I finally got around to finishing my collage, which I started in January when I was in Sweden. This collage is inspired by a plate in the National Museum in Stockholm, by the brilliant Swedish designer Stig Lindberg. It is made from papers that I created. I then added some dots with Posca pens, and it was lastly given a quick digital clean-up.

Hello! Belated Beltane blessings! I have been rather preoccupied with Substack, learning Swedish, and watching Swedish crime series. I am currently working on this linocut hare. I have a batch of work to print and will be sharing them soon.
