🌼 Upplev Gloria av Antonio Vivaldi i stämningsfulla Lövstabruks kyrka. Tillsammans med S:t Olofskören, Drottningholms Barockensemble och mezzosopranen Julia Mattei. Konserten inleds med att Lövstabruks organist Lukas Arvidsson spelar ett arrangemang av Bach på Vivaldis vackra konsert i d moll på den välkända Cahmanorgeln. I Lövstabruks musikbibliotek från 1700-talet finns över 20 konserter från Vivaldis första tryckta utgåvor. Vivaldis musik klingade alltså i kyrkan och i Herrgården samtida med kompositören själv.

🎶Julia Mattei är en framstående mezzosopran, med en gedigen bakgrund från Adolf Fredriks Musikklasser och Kungliga Operan där hon tidigt formades som artist. Hon har studerat vid Musikhögskolan i Örebro och fortsätter sin master vid Operahögskolan i Göteborg, samtidigt som hon etablerat sig på scen sedan sin debut som Frasquita i Carmen 2016. Med en stark scenisk närvaro och en repertoar som sträcker sig från barockens mästerverk till nyskriven opera befäster hon sin position som ett av landets mest intressanta namn inom den klassiska sången.

Konserten avslutas sedan med just Vivaldis välkända Gloria där S:t Olofskören medverkar med den välkända orkestern Drottningholms Barockensemble.

🌍 The Leufsta Cahman Academy is proud to be part of ECHO – European Cities of Historical Organs!

Lövstabruk holds associated membership in this vital European network, connecting some of the continent’s most important historic organs and musical traditions. ✨

This summer, we are especially excited to welcome participants from ECHO Young — a dynamic international network of young organists who will visit and actively engage in the Academy. 🌿🎶

📣 We will soon announce who has been appointed Lövstabruk’s new Young Ambassador — stay tuned!

🎵 On July 11, just before the Academy begins, young ambassadors from other ECHO cities will give a special concert on the Cahman Organ, Lövstabruk Church.

More information about that concert and this summer’s 40 opportunities to hear the Cahman organ will be released shortly.

A unique meeting place where art forms come together and music comes alive. ✨

Since the 18th century, Lövstabruk has been a place of musical encounters — where musicians from the Royal Court Orchestra played alongside local folk musicians, barons danced to polonaises and minuets, and even Carl Michael Bellman visited to perform his songs. In the rich music archive of Lövstabruk, works by composers such as Antonio Vivaldi and George Frideric Handel were performed during their own lifetimes — a living tradition that continues today. 🎻

At the Academy, this spirit lives on — where early music, folk traditions, improvisation, and dance meet in a shared artistic space, with joy and collaboration at the center. 🌿🎶

The Academy concludes with Leufstastämman — where folk and Baroque traditions meet once again, and where dance remains at the heart, just as it has always been. 💃

🎹 Discover the Schwan Organ, Börstil Church at the Leufsta Cahman Academy, July 12–16!

Built in 1783 by Olof Schwan, this beautiful organ continues the tradition of Hans Heinrich Cahman and the Stockholm school of organ building. ✨

Together with the Cahman organ in Lövstabruk, it offers a unique opportunity to experience a living Baroque sound tradition — through study, performance, and research. 🎶

🩰 Meet Kaho Yanagisawa at the Leufsta Cahman Academy, July 12–16!

A dancer with the Royal Swedish Ballet in Stockholm and Artistic Director of Stockholm 59°North. She has currently featured as Julia in “Julia & Romeo”. Kaho brings exceptional artistry, precision, and expressive depth to the stage. ✨

Dance has always been an essential part of musical life in Lövstabruk — where the organist played not only in church, but also for festive dancing, collaborating with local folk musicians and members of the Royal Court Orchestra. This rich meeting of traditions continues at the Academy, where historical and folk dance form a vital part of the artistic experience. 🎶

Kaho is also one of the featured dancers in the Goldberg Variations premiere with Vox Cordis, where music and movement come together in a unique Baroque setting.

🎶 Meet Miriam Andersén at the Leufsta Cahman Academy, July 12–16!

An acclaimed singer in both early music and Swedish folk traditions, Riksspelman, and familiar face from Swedish Television, Miriam is celebrated for her expressive artistry and unique ability to bring historical music to life. ✨

In her workshop, participants will explore the rich tradition of Swedish folk singing alongside the music that was sung in Lövstabruk during the 18th century. Drawing on the remarkable original manuscripts preserved in the Lövstabruk music archive, Miriam offers a rare opportunity to connect living vocal tradition with the sounds of the Baroque past. 🎵
