Vladimir Preobrazhenskiy, Liberation, 1974.
In Memory of my Father
I am dedicating this post to the memory of my wonderful father. Today marks exactly one month since he passed away. Although I didn’t have the chance to hear his last words, I carry with me the memory of his incredible artistic soul as a poet, a musician, and an illustrator.
He shared his art with only a small circle of people and never had the opportunity to become a professional illustrator, despite dreaming of it in his youth. I discovered this particular drawing a couple of years ago while we were cleaning out a cabinet. He told me then that the piece represents Liberation. I believe every viewer can find their own interpretation of that theme and appreciate the unique free spirit that lives within all of us.
My dad was not only a loving father but also my best coach and my toughest critic. I will deeply miss his wise advice and his profound honesty.
Rest in peace, Dad. You will always be remembered!
