Silver in MPO-Online master! 🎉

Congratulations to everyone who entered and especially for winning best in show!
I looked at this in person at Monte for quite some time and was amazed by the level of detail in such an enormous project! Well deserved!💥💥💥

Online competitions like this one feel like such a fantastic way to celebrate our hobby together and inspire each other 👌
I’m scrolling through the gallery now and there are so many fantastic entries💥

Happy Friday everyone!
Last post about this project😆

This dude was so dope to paint. I just wish I had two more days to finish this guy before I had to leave for GD. Definitely had to rush it.

Also new for this project was that I tried out the for the first time and I loved them!
I’ve always used W&N over the years. But since they started getting to expensive for me, my good friend convinced me to try out Davinci instead. Thank you Putte!

Some wip pics of how I went about figuring out the composition of the piece and how I built the base.

I posted most of these pictures back in late 2020. Yep this project has been on the shelf for quite some time😂

The Grymwatch box really spoke to me as soon as I saw it. The unit felt so dynamic and you could really see them being on the battlefield in the middle of the action. But making a unit of just a bunch of zombies didn’t really feel interesting enough. And that became even more apparent as soon as I started placing them together on a base.
I wanted it to feel like the zombies were countless in number and that this was just a small caption of a large army. As I was working out the composition I think the Abhorrant Archregent got released. The missing link if you will.
This is one of my favourite AOS miniatures and it fit perfectly together with the rest of the unit❤️🧟‍♂️❤️

Again a great mini to paint and I especially enjoyed painting his face and left leg.
The spear is from the Unmade warband box. Think all the weapon swaps for this unit are taken from that box👌💀💀💀

This guy in front really gave me some proper football huligan vibes😂

Such a joy to paint and I especially loved painting his face.
All the models in the unit have dark red shadows. So warm shadows and cold highlights 👍

Yo!
Here’s a bunch of pictures from GD SPIEL I never posted and some thoughts about the event.

Firstly I want to say I’m so stoked I pulled myself together and finished my unit after so many years on the shelf. It was a joy to power through and get it done. It didn’t turn out exactly how I had thought. But I like it and I think I learned a lot from this experience.

Last year GD at SPIEL felt a bit off.
But this year was amazing👌The vibe was wonderful. Everyone I met was happy and chatty. On top of that I got a award😆
Maybe this is part us getting used to SPIEL overall as a event and also part due to that GW really stepped up their organisation this year.
I love the new pin system. Now is the perfect time to start entering GD y’all!

The award ceremony was the best ever. Everything was hella smooth, there was a big crowd, the pictures were fantastic and the awards that were given out already had ingraved plaques!!

I got to meet and he signed my Mordheim book!💀🙏💀
I got to chat a bit with my painting hero and try out some of his paints❤️
Seeing my friends, , and win awards for their incredible art was a blast and made me so happy. Also a massive shout out to Dean, Pierre, Emil and Byron for making the whole weekend one long epic hang out👌

This event is very different from Monte mainly because that there is no natural place to just hang out and talk to people and the halls are very loud.
Luckily we hade the booth as the main hang out place❤️👌 or just to meet up.

Can’t wait for next year💥🍻💥🍻💥
