GöteborgsOperans Danskompani is a contemporary dance company within The Göteborg Opera. The company consists of dancers from 16 different countries - forming the biggest contemporary dance company in the Nordic region. The company works with a multitude of renowned international choreographers, who create commissioned work. Besides 3-4 Main Stage productions a season, the company does site specific and educational work. International touring is an important element of the company's identity.

We have reached the final show of the season! One last tour de force as we perform ima by Sharon Eyal and Wild Poetry by Hofesh Shechter at Auditorio de Tenerife. A grand finale to this spring and summer’s tour!

Few choreographers handle truly large ensemble scenes as masterfully as Alexander Ekman! He demonstrates this brilliantly in Hammer, where our entire dance company is on stage. It’s colorful, dark, and sexy—and tonight, Tenerife has the privilege of experiencing it! 🕺🏻🇪🇸

On our final dance tour of the season, we will perform not only Hammer, but also Sharon Eyal’s ima and Hofesh Shechter’s Wild Poetry.

Next season, there will be two opportunities to experience Hammer on our home stage, on April 10 and 25. But tickets are selling fast, so secure yours today if you don’t want to miss out! 💥🔨

Tonight we bring two new works on stage at Kuopio Dance Festival! First out, the international premiere of Botis Seva’s Hip-hop infused We Made a Mess! at Olvi Arena.
A bit later in the evening, the curtain goes up for Cold Song by Marcos Morau at Kuopio City Theatre.

In 30 min we open Kuopio Dance Festival’s main program with Hofesh Shechter’s Wild Poetry at Olvi Arena. And this is a first - never before have we performed in a Hockey arena. But when did we ever say no to a challenge! Breaking new ground is what we love doing!

After Wild Poetry, we change venues and move down the block to Kuopio City Theatre. There the festival audience will get to see ima by Sharon Eyal. Two shows, two venues, two different creations. Let’s do this!

GöteborgsOperans Danskompani fortsätter sin turnésäsong. Denna vecka är kompaniet huvudakt vid finska Kuopio Dansfestival – en av Nordens ledande festivaler inom danskonst.

Under fyra dagar framför kompaniet fyra hyllade dansverk, som haft sin världspremiär i Göteborg: Wild poetry av Hofesh Shechter, ima av Sharon Eyal, We made a mess! av Botis Seva och Cold song av Marcos Morau.

Kl. 18.00 går ridån upp för Wild Poetry på Olvi arena, två timmar senare för ima på Kuopio City Theater.

What does “home” really mean?
It’s a question Victor Ketelslegers often asks himself. To pursue his dream of a professional dance career, he left his native Belgium and his passion eventually brought him to Gothenburg.
In this interview, he shares the courage it takes to leave everything behind, the music that has shaped him, and the complex feeling of finding a new home while still missing the old one.

We love having Victor as part of our dance family. Tonight, he’s pulling double duty—performing in both Cold Song and ima at Maison de la Danse in Lyon.
