Back in the late eighties, a few years before I was born, my father wrote a song for my mother trying to redeem himself and get her back. I guess it must have worked (at least briefly) since I’m here on earth and able to tell the tale! 😅😁
Years later, in my late teens, my Dad sang me the song and it didn’t take long before I guessed that it might be about mom. At that point he felt that some of his old songs were too similar to one another and he asked me to help him make the chords and melody more interesting. Me and my friend Elie Sandberg took on the challenge.
In 2014 we made a living room recording of the song that later got forgotten, but luckily it resurfaced on my laptop during covid boredom. By then the embers of Ashes & Fire were already in the works so Liza and I decided to record a duet for the track. And here we are, almost 35 years after the inception of the song, feeling very excited to present to you Boardingpass To Nowhere! 🔥🔥🔥
