In Echoes Through Time…Land, choreographer Kyrie Oda continues an ongoing research journey inspired by Sámi and Indigenous people in Japan and beyond.

The research explores how experiences are carried between generations—and how mourning, resistance, care and joy can exist together in the body.

Join us at Skånes Dansteater for a sharing of the working process: an open moment to encounter the research, the questions, and the movement as they are developing.

Echoes Through Time… Land 🌿

We recently met Victoria Harnesk from Kulturpoten, Porjus Jillat Samiskt Danscenter and listened to her story of Porjus—the losses experienced by the land, her family, and the community, and the deep connection that continues to draw her to this place.

Despite everything that has been lost, there remains a powerful longing to stay, to care, to listen, and to imagine another future.

Her words, and the yoik of the wind she shared with us, continue to echo.

Echoes Through Time… Land, we listen to these echoes and ask: How can we care for the land and imagine a future together?

And we echo back through our dance...

What a privilege to continue our second residency in this extraordinary place.

This week, this place and this community made us feel safe, supported, and held — and from that place, creativity came alive.

We have been welcomed, challenged, inspired, and invited to listen more deeply: to the land, to one another, and to the stories that live here.

We are deeply grateful for the generosity, care, and trust we have been met with throughout this residency.

A new journey begins.

This summer, PA× start the research and creation process for Echoes Through Time… Land (2026–27) — an artistic exploration of land, memory, bodies, and belonging.

Our first residency takes place at Skånes Dansteater where the first steps of this project will unfold.
