Homenaje A Isaac & Papi Oviedo

January 30th of 2020 marks the release date of Soneros All Stars - ‘Homenaje a Isaac & Papi Oviedo’, a studio album recorded and produced by Jan Miklos Bogdan featuring Pascual Matos Aguirre (Miami USA).

The album bring ten songs from the repertoire of famous Tres Player Gilberto “Papi” Oviedo, Jan Miklos´s mentor and teacher in Cuban music over the years. Papi Oviedo passed 31th October 2017 and this album is a tribute to the artistic work of Gilberto and his father Isaac who passed June 16th, 1992. Two important “treseros” who have made a big difference in how to play the Cuban Tres.

Expect nothing but pure Son Cubano and Changüí 30/01-2020. ‘Homenaje a Isaac & Papi Oviedo’.

“Started the project Soneros All Stars back in 2001 by recording with Cristina Azcuy and some studio musicians from Cuba and Sweden, after that I collaborated with musicians from Elito Reve and recorded the album 'Dime Nagüe' 2004. Then I made the album 'La Timba Soy Yo' 2007 with Cesar 'Pupy' Pedroso (Los Que Son Son) and Mandy Cantero (Los Van Van), Alexander Abreu (Havana D'Primera). 2010 the album 'Lolo' and 2014 'El Que Corta El Bacalao' with Emilio Frias (La Verdad). I've also played the tres cubano and baby bass with Raul Lara y sus Soneros since the year 2000, and 2014 we were GRAMMY nominated for Best Tropical Latin Album.”
