So the plan was six nights in Key West, but then my brain decided to throw in a little panic party over the idea of having to get from Key West to the cruise port in three hours on embarkation day. Cue my executive decision to head back to Miami a day early. The perks of having a travel booking system at my fingertips meant that I found us a gorgeous hotel for an amazing price right near the cruise port
Honestly? Best. Decision. Ever. 🙌 The drive out of Key West was so slow. What should’ve been three hours ended up taking four and a half!
We dropped the hire car back at the airport, grabbed an Uber, and made our way to our next hotel: Gale Hotel & Residences Miami, right by Bayside. The hotel was gorgeous, all chic and shiny, with a rooftop pool overlooking the Kaseya Centre and a view of the cruise port in the distance.
Once we’d checked in and had a quick nose around the rooftop, we decided to stretch our legs with a wander. There’s a shopping area in Brickell, about a 20-minute walk away, so off we trotted… because, thanks to teenagers, all of our trips contain multiple stops at the mall!🛍️.
The mall was decent, but it was one of those indoor/outdoor multi story ones.
There was a crew from The fast and furious revving up their engines whilst underneath and oh my god….the noise🫨it was so loud that it felt like the building was shaking.
After that we made a quick exit and spotted a ‘Whole foods’ whilst on the way back to the hotel. We love a whole foods, it just makes you feel like you have done some good after eating from there😂We must have done 3 laps of the store before settling on what to grab, we ended up grabbing a few salads and a Tres Leches cake, which was sooo good🤤😍
