An Insight!
Let’s be honest—criticism is everywhere. It does not simply disappear, nor will it ever stop. That is something we must all learn to accept.
Riyadh is rapidly emerging as a vibrant hub for entertainment, supported by various organizations and a growing expatriate community. With this rise, we are witnessing more aspiring artists, models, and pageant participants stepping into the spotlight. However, with growth—especially in pageantry—comes responsibility.
Pageantry and modeling are not merely about presence; they are grounded in standards, discipline, and credibility. The very essence of this field demands qualifications. This is precisely why auditions and criteria exist—they are not optional but non-negotiable. Participants must possess the self-awareness to honestly evaluate whether they meet these standards. And if one chooses to enter this space, they must also be prepared to face criticism—and handle it with maturity and professionalism.
For event organizers, the responsibility is even greater. Proper screening is not just part of the process—it is a fundamental duty. Rules exist for a reason and must be applied consistently, without favoritism or compromise. Your mission, vision, and ex*****on must always align with the purpose of your event. Otherwise, you risk diminishing the integrity of the very platform you are trying to build.
It is also becoming increasingly evident that some events are drifting away from the true essence of Filipino culture and tradition. This is concerning. We must never forget that we are in Saudi Arabia, where laws, cultural norms, and traditions must always be respected. Events that fail to align with these standards are not only irresponsible—they may also be perceived as disrespectful to the host country.
Let us be clear—this is not about creating drama or conflict. It is about upholding standards, demonstrating respect, and fostering growth within our community.
We are here to work, to improve, and to uplift one another.
So let us remain grounded, respectful, and—most importantly—disciplined.
This is simply our perspective, shared with sincerity. No offense is intended.
Thank you.
Yours in community,
