With more than 500 marketers promoting a wide range of varieties and quality levels, Qassim continues to play a major role in the Kingdom’s date economy, producing over 580,000 tonnes annually and generating around SR3.2 billion. Saudi Arabia’s total annual date production exceeds 1.9 million tonnes, serving local demand and strengthening global exports.

Saudi Arabia is set to experience a period of extreme heat from Sunday through Wednesday. The Eastern Province and parts of the Riyadh region are expected to be particularly affected, with maximum temperatures forecast to reach 47–50°C.

Residents are advised to take precautions, stay hydrated, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak daytime hours.
