The Kigali Deaf community visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial to pay tribute to those who lost their lives during the Genocide against the Tutsi and to honor the survivors who continue to live with the wounds of this tragedy.
We learned a lot about the painful history of our country, which continues to teach us important lessons. Deaf people also lost beloved family members and as a Deaf community, we stand together with them in solidarity and support during this period of remembrance.
This experience helps promote inclusiveness and raise awareness. It reminds us that we are capable of contributing and making a meaningful impact in our community.
We say: Genocide will never happen again.
