“Murmurs from the Wind” by will be screened at the 42nd Vues d’Afrique International Film Festival ( ), taking place April 3–12, 2026.

The film will screen April 5, 2026 at 5:30 PM (Montreal time) at the Cinémathèque québécoise ( )

Murmurs from the Wind is the second short film in a travel series born from a challenge Remy set in 2023: to create a short film every time he travels. For him, travel is both an observation of the world and a journey inward, where landscapes, memories, and unexpected encounters quietly shape reflection.

Murmurs from the Wind” will be screened at the 15th , from March 29 to April 4, 2026. We are deeply honored, as 80% of the film was shot in Luxor, Egypt, in 2024, when attended the festival with another short film. This project is part of a personal challenge Remy set in 2023: to make a short film every time he travels. So far, he has completed three shorts from this challenge. For him, travel is a way to observe both the world around us and the self within—a journey where the familiar, the unknown, and unexpected encounters shape perspective and invite reflection.

Travel is an act of observation—of both external landscapes and the inner self. It’s a journey where the contrast between the familiar and the unknown, along with the encounters, not only reshapes your view of the world but also offers moments of deep introspection.

Ryumugabe Remy set out to create a short film with each of his travels—films that juxtapose the familiar with the unfamiliar, blending reality with fiction. The first, titled "THINGS IN THE PSYCHE OF AN AWAKE DREAMER" was co-produced with KIRURI MFN. It draws largely from images captured during his time in Oberhausen, Germany, in 2022, for the premiere of another of his shorts. This film will premiere at the 43rd Uppsala Short Film Festival and we hope it will continue its journey, connecting with audiences worldwide.

With footage from his latest trip to Luxor, Egypt, where he screened one of his shorts we produced, we are already in post-production for the second short in the series and look forward to sharing it with the world soon.

I am happy to announce that my short film, “A Wingless Bird That Flies”, has been selected to be screened at the 19th Ishango Encounter (Yolé!Africa ) - an annual gathering of artists, intellectuals, and communities dedicated to reimagining the place—and possibilities—of art and storytelling in the contemporary world -to be held from 20-30th June 2024 in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Our short will be screened on Friday, 28th June 2024, at 8 PM CAT (GMT+2)
