👥 The UN Youth Strategy 👥

💼 Today, the world is home to the largest number of young people in human history. The UN has developed a strategy for and with youth in all its three pillars of peace and security, human rights, and sustainable development.

🌱 The strategy seeks to increase the impact and scale of efforts at the global, regional, and country levels to address the needs of youth. It builds capacity and empowers young people in all their diversity around the world. It also ensures youth participation in the implementation, review, and follow-up of the 2030 Agenda and other agendas and frameworks.

There are several priorities:

⚡️ Involvement, Participation, and Advocacy: Increase the role of youth for peace, justice, and environmental security on our planet

⚡️ Lay the foundation for awareness and health: support youth in gaining better access to quality education and health care.

⚡️ Economic empowerment through decent work: improve access of young people to decent and productive employment.

⚡️ Youth and human rights: protect and promote young people's rights and support their civic and political participation.

⚡️Peace and resilience - to provide support to young people as catalysts for peace, security, and humanitarian action.

Dear friends, we hasten to remind you that registration for HSEIMUN 2022 has been extended until February 1.

⚡ This year's model takes place in an online format, but this is not a disadvantage of the model. The model is truly unique. It will raise topical and ambiguous agendas for the committees. Moreover, it will be organized only by competent and experienced chairmen and secretaries. Actually, there will be interesting speakers with unusual lectures.

🖥 UN Candidate Selection System 🖥

The United Nations offers thousands of jobs, but each position requires the candidate who best fits the job description. The UN uses Inspira, which contains an automated application filtering system. It collects the most relevant applications and sends them to the Department, which then reviews your application.

There are some tips that can help your application to be considered

🔠 Language
All entry-level positions at the UN require fluency in one or more specific language. For example, if the position you are about to apply for requires fluency in English, but you indicate in any part that you are proficient or basic, your application will not pass the filtering system.

⚡️ Work Experience
The filtering system will automatically count all the work experience you specify in the system. That's why if your work experience is less than what the job requirements state, the system will block your application.

📚 Education and additional information
All applications are scanned and evaluated based only on the information you enter in the system. For professional levels and above, you must always specify your level of education, or your application will also be blocked.

All candidates applying to work at UNO must be between the ages of 18 and 59. In addition, each candidate must provide information about his or her criminal record (if any).

📚 UN Online Courses 📚

The United Nations not only gathers a wealth of knowledge, analysis, and expertise on contemporary global political processes but also facilitates the training or retraining of specialists in various fields.

There are hundreds of organizations under the auspices of the UN that promote holistic human development. Let's take a look at some online courses they offer.

📈 United Nations Institute for Training and Research

There are nearly 500 courses available on the Institute's Web site. However, although the courses are provided by the Organization under the auspices of the UN, many of them are for a fee and are sold at a very high price. The system also contains more than 240 free courses in English, French, and Spanish.

👥 United Nations System Staff College

The Staff College is an organization under the auspices of the United Nations that trains and retrains personnel through interagency training. Online courses are fee-based but are fully certified training programs for personnel from international organizations.

🌱 The One UN Climate Change Learning Partnership

This is the United Nations Climate Change Partnership Program, an electronic system of free courses in all six official UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian, and Spanish) that offer a certificate of completion.

These and other programs give you the opportunity to take online courses in the program that's closest to your heart and gain invaluable experience and knowledge.

💼 Internship and work at the United Nations 💼

Every day the United Nations and organizations under the auspices of the UN publish information about internship opportunities as well as available positions, which include both humanitarian and technical areas.

What do you need to know?

⚡️ First, most internships are unpaid, but many organizations pay for room and board during the internship period.

⚡️ Second, internships do not involve continued employment with the United Nations or organizations under its auspices. But you can always leave an application to fill a vacant position.

⚡️ Third, internships provide opportunities for young people without work experience to gain work experience. However, a job at the UN necessarily requires real work experience relevant to the position.
