| 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙖'𝙨 𝙜𝙖𝙯𝙚 𝙙𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙚 𝙙𝙞 𝙑𝙚𝙣𝙚𝙯𝙞𝙖 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Some impressions from Venice.
The Biennale is always interesting, despite all the contradictions and those “has been, has seen…” thoughts. I liked a few things in the main pavilion, especially the space dedicated to the Nairobi Contemporary Art Institute, founded by Michael Armitage.

Another pleasure is the exhibitions around the city that take place alongside the Biennale. The ones I enjoyed most were, naturally, those without endless queues, haha. Picasso and Morandi, Boetti, the exhibition about Peggy Guggenheim’s London years…

But before leaving, one still has to “cleanse” the eye. This time, with the help of Tintoretto at Madonna dell’Orto.

Биеннале всегда интересна, несмотря на противоречия и мысли “has been, has seen…”. Кое что приглянулось в основном павильоне. В частности, пространство, отведенное институту современного искусства Найроби, основанному Michael Armitage.

Отдельное удовольствие - выставки в городе вокруг биеннале. Больше всего порадовали те, на которые нет очередей, ха-ха. Пикассо и Моранди, Боэтти, выставка про лондонский период жизни Пегги Гуггенхайм…

Но перед отъездом надо все же «почистить» глаз. В этот раз с помощью Тинторетто в Мадонна Дель Орто.

| 𝙀𝙫𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙮 𝙈𝙪𝙯𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙫𝙨𝙠𝙮 𝙎𝙤𝙡𝙤 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬

Il y a, dans 𝘕’𝘢𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘻 𝘱𝘢𝘴 𝘥𝘦 𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘴 (2025), quelque chose d’une provocation douce — presque un sourire en coin. Comme souvent chez Muzalevsky, le titre fonctionne à rebours : il annonce l’absence, tout en produisant déjà un récit.

« N’attendez pas… » — mais nous attendons quand même. C’est là tout son humour : désamorcer l’interprétation avant même qu’elle ne commence. La toile se déploie comme une scène ouverte. À droite, une masse noire, compacte, cernée d’un orange incandescent, évoque à la fois une grotte, une gu**le, une arche.

Elle aspire le regard. Le noir n’est pas une surface, mais un champ magnétique ; il est travaillé au stick, griffé, traversé d’éclats blancs qui semblent respirer sous la couche. Face à cette masse, à gauche, des figures esquissées, presque caricaturales — jambes écartées, gestes suspendus — paraissent tirées d’un comic américain ou d’un carnet griffonné à la hâte. Le spray vient contaminer l’espace, déposer des lignes vertes nerveuses, comme des lianes électriques. L’huile, elle, installe des zones plus denses, presque grasses.

In “𝘋𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵 𝘛𝘪𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘴” (2025), there is something of a gentle provocation—almost a wry smile. As is often the case with Muzalevsky, the title works in reverse: it announces an absence, while already producing a narrative.

“Don’t expect…”— but we expect something anyway. That is the essence of his humor: defusing interpretation before it even begins. The canvas unfolds like an open stage. On the right, a compact black mass, encircled by incandescent orange, evokes at once a cave, a maw, an arch.

It draws the gaze in. The black is not a surface, but a magnetic field; it is worked with a stick, scratched, crisscrossed by white flecks that seem to breathe beneath the layer. Opposite this mass, on the left, sketched, almost caricatured figures—legs spread apart, gestures suspended—seem plucked from an American comic book or a hastily scribbled notebook. Spray paint invades the space, depositing nervous green lines, like electric vines. The oil, meanwhile, creates denser, almost oily zones.

When a work of art touches you in some way, when you establish a connection with a work of art, when it makes you ponder something – that's what's most important. You don't always have to think about something specific. Sometimes, a bell may suddenly ring in your subconscious... In that sense, I don't believe that photography differs from painting or architecture, from cinema, or music.” — Tim Parchikov

«Я бы не отделял фотографию от других видов искусства. Когда произведение искусства тебя чем-то трогает, когда возникает контакт с ним, когда оно заставляет о чём-то задуматься, — это и есть самое важное. И не всегда речь идет о чём-то конкретном: иногда просто вдруг зазвенит какой-то колокольчик в подсознании… В этом смысле я не думаю, что фотография отличается от живописи, архитектуры, кино или музыки», — Тим Парщиков.

| 𝘾𝙊𝙇𝙊𝙍 𝙈𝘼𝙏𝙍𝙄𝙓 - 𝙏𝙞𝙢 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙠𝙤𝙫 𝙎𝙤𝙡𝙤 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙬

Once Venice was a city of colour. Back in the days of the Republic colour pervaded everywhere (...). With time the frescoes have faded, painting has retreated from everyday life and the remnants of colour are confined to souvenir stalls or the inaccessible interiors of tightly-shuttered palazzos. Only at night do Venice’s phantom colour reflections rise to the surface.

You can take them unawares and seize the passing moment, reveal footage that was never filmed, where past and future are more important than the present. Tim Parchikov’s lightboxes are screens that capture the pulsating suspense of nocturnal Venice.

Когда-то Венеция была городом цвета. В эпоху Республики цвет пронизывал всё вокруг (…). Со временем фрески поблекли, живопись исчезла из повседневной жизни, и остатки цвета теперь можно найти только в сувенирных лавках или в недоступных интерьерах плотно закрытых палаццо. Только ночью фантомные цветовые отражения Венеции поднимаются на поверхность.

Можно поймать мимолётный момент, где прошлое и будущее важнее настоящего. Лайтбоксы Тима Парщикова — это экраны, которые улавливают пульсирующее напряжение ночной Венеции.

La galerie Alina Pinsky est heureuse d’annoncer la première exposition en France de l’artiste Evgeny Muzalevsky.

Figure parmi les plus en vue de la jeune scène artistique russe, aujourd’hui installé en Allemagne, et jamais présenté jusqu’ici en France, Evgeny Muzalevsky présentera notamment une série de nouvelles peintures et dessins grands formats témoignant de la puissance de son style éruptif, entre abstraction et figuration.

Alina Pinsky Paris is pleased to announce the first exhibition in France by artist Evgeny Muzalevsky.

One of the most prominent figures on the young Russian art scene, now based in Germany, and never before exhibited in France, Evgeny Muzalevsky will present a series of new large-format paintings and drawings that showcase the power of his explosive style, straddling abstraction and figuration.

The exhibition, titled “𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘳𝘢𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘗𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘴”, conceived in collaboration with Thibaut Wychowanok editor-in-chief of Numero magazine and artistic director of the Reiffers Art Initiatives, will open its doors on Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., in the presence of the artist.
