SERLO Youth Theatre

SERLO Youth Theatre Theatre for everybody. Serlo Theatre was founded by Hava Akhmadova in 2009, by the prescript of the President of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov.

The main concept of Serlo (meaning light in chechen language) is “Theatre for everybody”. Hava Akhmadova welcomes everybody who dreams about the career of a theater actor. For the moment Serlo is the most popular theater in Chechnya. Chechen people try to survive from the horrors of the war through theatrical art. Majority of theater plays are written by the popular and acclaimed writer Musa Akhmadov. His subjects are Chechen values: duty, honor, conscience, friendship, reverence for parents and respect for elders.
