I continue my story about Fondation Carmignac located on the set on the magical island of Porquerolles, a protected, largely untouched Mediterranean ecosystem in the middle of the sea.
Villa Carmignac was conceived as an immersive, sensory museum. Visitors walk barefoot, and the underground galleries are illuminated through a remarkable ceiling filled with water, producing constantly shifting natural light.

The current exhibition, “SEA, POP & SUN,” is a vibrant, sun-drenched group show running from April 25 to November 1, 2026.Curated by Dieter Buchhart and Anna Karina Hofbauer, the exhibition serves as a dazzling ode to the freedom, hedonism, and cultural vitality of the 1960s and 1970s. Its name draws inspiration from Serge Gainsbourg’s provocative 1978 hit song, inviting visitors into a fantasy of a seaside escape.

Andy Warhol: The exhibition journey begins with selections from Warhol’s famous Sunset (1972) serigraph series.

I continue my story about Fondation Carmignac located on the set on the magical island of Porquerolles, a protected, largely untouched Mediterranean ecosystem in the middle of the sea.
Villa Carmignac was conceived as an immersive, sensory museum. Visitors walk barefoot, and the underground galleries are illuminated through a remarkable ceiling filled with water, producing constantly shifting natural light.

Here I present the 2 permanent artworks that design the stairs that take you in and out of the exhibition rooms due to the island very strict construction regulation had to be build underground! !

1st work is called Ciclotrama 50 (Wind) (2018). It was created specifically for the Villa Carmignac on Porquerolles and is one of the first works visitors encounter after removing their shoes and descending into the museum. It is a site-specific permanent installation.

The artist often transforms ordinary rope into intricate organic systems. Here, a single rope “deconstructs” into an immense web, suggesting how everything in nature is interconnected. The title combines the words cycle and weaving (“trama” in Portuguese), emphasizing continuous transformation and connection.

Interestingly, Landini has explained that this work also functions as Ariadne’s thread—the mythical thread that guides visitors into the labyrinth. It symbolically leads you from the outside world into the immersive experience of the Villa Carmignac.

2nd piece that is located in the stairs that take you at ground floor after visiting on view exhibition is by JACOB HASHIMOTO- an American artist by Japanese origin!

FONDATION CARMIGNAC, PORQUEROLLES
A contemporary art collection of over 300 works , housed in the Villa Carmignac on the island of Porquerolles — 15 hectares of Mediterranean forest and gardens , accessible only by boat followed by a bike ride or walk ( better electric bike ) . A visit that requires commitment, which is entirely the point.
How cool is to visit an island for its beaches and end up to cool down while visiting a great art collection !

EXPOZIȚIA „CARTOGRAFII ALE DESTINELOR” de artist vizual Vali Irina Ciobanu a avut Vernisajul în data de 2 iulie 2026 la Palatul Parlamentului - Sală Brâncuși - intrarea Strada Izvor 2-4 ! Expoziția va dura până pe 30 iulie 2026 și se poate vizita cu programare în prealabil la vali irina ciobanu.

„Cartografii ale Destinelor” este un proiect expozițional de pictură contemporană semnat de artista Vali Irina Ciobanu, dedicat ideii de identitate, memorie culturală și legăturilor simbolice dintre spațiu, mitologie și emoție.

Expoziția reunește peste 80 de lucrări de pictură și mixed media, organizate în capitole tematice inspirate de Europa, Asia și Africa, în care hărțile vechi, cerurile simbolice și arhetipurile feminine devin repere vizuale ale unei geografii interioare. O secțiune separată este dedicată Bucureștiului , orașul unde artista trăiește și creează de peste 35 ani !

The exhibition brought together over 80 paintings and mixed media works, organized in thematic chapters inspired by Europe, Asia and Africa, in which old maps, symbolic skies and feminine archetypes become visual landmarks of an inner geography.
