THE OLD HOUSE (2023), Spontaneous Site Specific Performance / Video Performance, Tereza Leonhard & Katharina Kraus, Camera: Simon Tartler, Film Editing: Cordula Werner & Teresa Leonhard
In Gușterița, you can find the “Casa românească”, a 200-year-old wooden house that priest Alexandru Ioniță and some of the villagers are trying to save as a cultural heritage with a lot of voluntary work. To get into the old house, we had to climb in via the entrance. There was no room for more than three. Encountering the building - a silent, aesthetic dialog between the present and the past - has spontaneously provoked a performance. The energy of the clown intersected with a melancholy retrospective. Motion and action. Looks and gestures. Feeling and expression. Speechless, soundless, staging the atmosphere of the place, the visuality.
