DESCRIPTION OF THE COMPANY

HU /

EN /

Transylvanian Contemporary Dance was founded in 2019 by Macaveiu Blanche with the intention of creating a movement-theatre-based creative space where experience, curiosity, and growth could meet in a fertile artistic dialogue. The project aims to foster collaboration between experienced choreographers and young dancers, providing a platform where knowledge, perspective, and energy can be shared through collective creation.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PERFORMANCE

HU /

EN /

The title "This is us" signals in the simplest possible way that the performance what the audience is about to see reflects the state that we, the ones that contributed to the making of this performance, are in and tries to show how we experience things at this very moment.

The piece doesn’t aim for grand storytelling, complex plots, or deep character portrayals. Instead, it simply wants to present the will to dance. The focus is not on impressing the audience, but rather on allowing the girls to encounter certain professional and personal challenges — experiences that may, in the long run, influence the development of their personalities in a positive way.

RO /

TODAY / CAMP CULTURAL PROGRAMS

"Mechanical Bestiary"
CONTEMPORARY ART EXHIBITION
at Szimpla Sepsiszentgyörgy
Artist: Levente Herman
From: 19:30

It refers to medieval bestiaries, where imaginary and real animals were catalogued - here, however, they are metal-bodied, hybrid, playable sculptures.

At once ironic and literal: a game for adults, not only physically but also symbolically relearning childish curiosity.

A world where nature and machine merge - the playground is no longer just wood and rope, but steel and mythology.

> Mechanical Bestiary is an interactive exhibition where industrial metal bodies come to life on the border of myth, play and movement. The sculptures are not just to be looked at - they can be rocked, ridden, climbed, explored. A rocking horse in the shape of a centaur, or a wild boar skull mounted on a camera crane are all grotesque toys of the past, present and future.

This playground for adults is not a children's haven, but a metallic, heavy dreamscape of a world where bodies are no longer made of flesh but of iron.

Levente Herman completed his artistic studies at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. As one of the founding members of the Élesd Art Colony, he has celebrated significant successes in recent years. Several of his works have entered major collections—among them the Hungarian National Gallery and 21c Museum in Louisville, Kentucky, USA. In 2012, he mounted a 1,000 m² exhibition at the m21 Gallery in the Zsolnay Quarter of Pécs, followed by solo shows at the Edward Cutler Gallery in Milan (IT) and the Zorzini Gallery in Bucharest (RO). His creations are held in numerous public and private collections at home and abroad—in London, Brussels, China, Miami, and New York. Herman’s paintings are distinguished by a brooding sense of mystery enlivened by playful details. Out of these defining motifs emerges a deeply personal iconography. Rather than striving for a realist depiction of reality, he seeks to evoke a world steeped in the memories of lived experience.
