Pustnik Screenwriters Residency is a retreat for filmmakers that are writing their first feature film. Made by screenwriters for screenwriters, Pustnik takes place at a remote location in Romania as an environment dedicated to peace of mind and clarity of thought. As a growing network of film professionals, Pustnik is also a community whose aim is to ease and encourage collaboration across the int

ernational cinema industry. The next edition will take place mid-September 2022 and will welcome eight projects from anywhere in the world. Pustnik Screenwriters Residency is organized by TETA. Its first edition took place in 2014. Cultural project co-funded by the Romanian Ministry of Culture, the Administration of the National Cultural Fund (AFCN), Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR), Romanian Filmmakers' Union (UCIN), Dacin Sara, French Institute Romania. The call you were waiting for! Submissions for the 12th Pustnik Screenwriters Residency are now open! ✍️

And we also have some good news! This year, in addition to projects from first-time filmmakers, the residency is also open for sophomore feature films, including those of previous residency participants, who are encouraged to apply with their new work.

Eight writers will be invited to develop their screenplays this September in rural Romania, miles from distraction. Applications and attendance are as always free. Just make sure to check our website for eligibility requirements.
