Port Cultural Cetate www.portcetate.com His vision was to transform the place into a haven for the arts and a 'multinational port of culture'.

Portul Cultural Cetate este așezat pe malul Dunării, între Calafat și Turnu Severin, pe locul în care, de pe la 1880 pâna la mijlocul secolului trecut, a funcționat un port agricol de unde se exporta grâu și făină spre Budapesta, Viena și orașele germane danubiene.

În 1997, clădirea portuară construită cu mai bine de o suta de ani in urma de meșteri italieni și aflată în ruină a fost cumpărată de

Fundația pentru Poezie ‘Mircea Dinescu’ și în patru ani i s-a redat vechiul farmec. au venit pictori, sculptori, muzicieni, scriitori, actori si au transformat vechiul port agricol într-un port cultural.

Located on the Romanian bank of the Danube, the Culture Port Cetate was 'born' in 1997, when Mircea Dinescu discovered the ruins of an old agricultural port by the Danube and had the idea to make it the home of a Poetry Foundation.
