Raul Lazar Unscripted art. Two hands, two voices. Created in a shared studio with my son (b. 2021) One that is there anyway. We just choose to ignore it.

As a designer and a fashion and textile graduate, my works are directly inspired by the industry I work in. I use my everyday experiences within the fashion field as a perpetual source of inspiration for the themes I choose. Considering fashion a cultural zeitgeist of modern times, I often identify our generation’s problems and try to disect them in my works, turning them into an onest exhibition

of the feelings and the issues my generation faces on a day-to-day basis, problems which are often hidden, cosmeticized- just as a photo shooting that retouches both the flaws of the model and the clothes, we have come to a point where we photoshop our own lives. Using a variety of techniques-from painting on canvas, to collage and digital media, I try to give my works the feeling of a glossy fashion magazine, but with a dark twist. I choose to make it more obvious.

This series of collage paintings are vibrant tapestries of innocence and imagination, woven from the crayon strokes of a young muse-my son. Each piece exudes a playful energy - the raw, untamed lines of my toddler's hand emerge as the focal point, intertwining with carefully curated snippets of the world around them.

Each stroke tells a story, capturing fleeting moments of wonder and curiosity. His innocence of youth radiates through every brushstroke, inviting me-and you- to rediscover the world through the untainted eyes of a child.

In essence, these collage paintings are a celebration of the pure, unfiltered joy of creation, offering a timeless glimpse into the enchanting world of childhood imagination.
