Making progress on the first painting started this year. The Breath Between Worlds speaks about the moment when we pause and return to ourselves: when we loosen our grip on all the thoughts and strain we carry while on the run, doing what we must to make it in this world.
Sometimes that moment arrives with tears - not tears of sadness or grief, but tears of relief. Of letting go. Of knowing that we can retreat inside our shell for a while, resting our minds and our souls.
I’m painting this as a reminder to myself to allow these moments of return more often, to listen more closely to my body, and to pause when it asks me to.
What helps you come back to yourself? Do you recognize the moment when your body asks for rest?
