When you stare at a canvas for hours, your eyes lie to you.
You lose perspective, over-think the details, and start ruining a good piece.

Step back a few meters, close your eyes for 20 seconds, and look again.
If the main shape and color contrast don't grab you immediately from across the room, no amount of tiny detailed brushstrokes is going to save it.
Simplify first. Detail later (or not at all). 🎨
