Shadow of a Perfect Day starts today.
The idea is simple: every week for a year, I watch the same film — Wim Wenders’ Perfect Days — and then go out into the world with a cassette recorder, a Polaroid camera, and a notebook. I record the sounds around me, ask a stranger to photograph my shadow, after that I write a haiku. Then I do it again the following week. And the week after that. 52 times in total.
What changes is everything else — the season, the light, the strangers, the words. What stays the same is the ritual.
At the end of the year, the whole thing becomes an exhibition, an artist book, and a live performance.
