Old habits die hard, and a classical medium is never out of fashion. I chose a Fabriano Clay paper, , whose sturdy texture gives it a more refined and Renaissance-like appearance. A portrait study is never a mere study of proportions and anatomy, but an insight into the psyche of the model.

Last april was not an easy month to carry. Yet,roaming around the streets of Lecce, in Puglia , I came across the Accademia and I had a moment of gratitudine. Graittude towards everyone who suported me in my artistic journey since my early years as a child and afterwards as a teenager. Without them I wouldn’t be who I am now. As always, great epiphanies come under the southern italian sun, which makes everything shine brighter.☀️

Bacchus. As the Roman god of wine and revelry, Bacchus symbolized both chaos and fertility, famously rescuing Ariadne. With titles like Dendrites and Anthios, he embodied nature’s cycles, overseeing wine, milk, and honey. His worship offered women liberation, a theme explored in Annette Giesecke’s studies. This artwork blends baroque elegance with modern techniques on stone paper, previewing a series to unfold next year.
