How do you go from managing a community to managing a project? For Edi, it’s been a five-year process of learning, adapting, and taking ownership. Read on for his take on the transition, the importance of cross-department collaboration, and why he believes a game only thrives when its community does. 💚
🗣️: ''What I enjoy the most about my job at Green Horse Games is the opportunity to collaborate with my team and constantly search for the best features, events, and improvements for both the game and the community. Over the past almost five years, whether as a Community Manager or now as a Project Manager, I’ve always appreciated the creative discussions and problem-solving sessions where we challenge ideas and refine them until they truly add value to our players.
🤝 Teamwork plays a huge role in a game’s success, as a great game is never built from a single perspective. By bringing together different opinions, experiences, and feedback from multiple departments—community, design, development, marketing—we’re able to analyze ideas from all angles. Open discussions and constructive debates help us refine concepts and find the best possible solutions. In my experience, the more aligned and collaborative the team is, the stronger and more cohesive the final product becomes.
💚 One special thing about Green Horse Games is how well it grows people and helps them specialize in their strengths. I’ve personally evolved a lot here; when I look back at where I started almost five years ago and compare it to where I am now, I’m genuinely surprised by how much I’ve learned and how much my team and I have accomplished together. What makes GHG stand out in the gaming industry is our focus on quality and long-term development. We don’t just build features—we refine them, improve them, and make sure they truly fit our players’ expectations.
🙌 The values that resonate with me the most are growth and ownership. Growth, because I strongly believe in continuous learning and professional evolution—I’ve experienced it myself within the company. Ownership, because I think taking responsibility for your work, your decisions, and your impact is essential for building great products. When people truly own their projects, they care more, push harder, and strive for better results.
After four years as a Community Manager, there have been many memorable moments, but what stands out the most is seeing players genuinely passionate about the game—whether celebrating a big win, engaging deeply in an event, or giving detailed feedback because they truly care. Community feedback plays a crucial role in shaping our games and is one of the most important sources of insight for a game developer. Players experience the game daily and from different perspectives, so their feedback helps us understand what works, what needs improvement, and what opportunities we might be missing. By analyzing and discussing this feedback internally, we can adapt and improve the game in ways that truly enhance the player experience.
Ultimately, the community is at the core of the game. Without a strong and engaged community, the game would lose a significant part of its value. A happy and active community not only keeps the game alive but also helps it grow through engagement, competition, and word of mouth. Long-term success isn’t just about features—it’s about the people who play, interact, and build memories within the game. When the community thrives, the game thrives as well.🙌''
