Early this summer, we took a small trip to heritage-rich New Orleans, Louisiana without leaving the studio.
Sarah Maycock’s beautiful, very detailed (and very large :D) painting of , a new hotel opening this autumn in the Garden District, took us there.
Since we were already there, we started snooping around this centuries old neighbourhood. The house dates back to 1858 and sits right in the middle of all the Garden District goodness: grand old mansions, giant oak trees, lush private gardens and enough history to send you down a very deep Google rabbit hole.
Sarah had already packed all of that into the painting.
Our job was basically to make it come alive enhancing the magic — revealing the house, the greenery and all the tiny details bit by bit.
Less “look what we added” and more “look what was hiding in there.” kind of project, which we loved.
