🌍 What does it mean to live — and create — from the “edge”?
Arts on the Edge Spaces (ARES) has officially launched.
From 4–6 March we gathered in Düsseldorf with 🇷🇴
Sciaena 🇵🇹
HIAP - Helsinki International Artist Programme 🇫🇮
— hosted by Kompliz:innen 🇩🇪
to begin a 2-year journey connecting art, ecology and communities across Europe.
This kick-off was about building the foundation:
• a shared Green Code for sustainable residencies and production
• a Diversity & Fair Selection framework
• itinerant exhibition strategies
• long-term cross-border collaboration
We immersed ourselves in Grund und Boden. How We Live Together at (K21), exchanged with curator Jessica Aydin and artist Miriam Bornewasser at , and discussed with Caspar Weimann (onlinetheater.live) how digital communities and hybrid artistic practices respond to polarised realities.
ARES unfolds in places often seen as peripheral — treating “edge positions” as sites of knowledge, resilience and imagination.
🚀 Open call results coming soon.
