Jaakko Myyri is our second resident in collaboration with Quote—Unquote. You can meet him and see his works this Wednesday from 4pm at Goodbuy Gallery in Bucharest: (PEJ) Perceiving-Extra-Judging — Jaakko Myyri — exhibition & performance, kindly supported by the Mondriaan Fonds.

During his stay in Bucharest, Jaakko has worked on 'q***ring' research and developing an online app based on the popular personality type test known as Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, which he now presents in q***red format. The original test was based on Katharine Briggs' interpretations on Jung's theory of archetypes, which Briggs then reintroduced and revamped to become the most popular personality test today used among corporations and government institutions.

☄️ We are very happy to announce the residency of Jaakko Myyri, Finnish artist based in the Netherlands, who will be living and working in Bucharest until November. He is our second guest in collaboration with Quote—Unquote platform on (public) speech.

Jaakko has graduated from Gerrit Rietveld Academie and his community-based and personal projects have seen presentations in NEVERNEVERLAND (Amsterdam), Het Nieuwe Instituut (Rotterdam), Linz FMR 21 (Austria) and Rietveld UNCUT in Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam).

From figuring the terms of usage of erotic terminology and constructing language of the q***r narrative for their collective memory, Myyri accumulates work around encounters and language. Recently he has worked on community projects to build q***r intimacy archives both for the digital interface and the public domain. He continues to work with these interface bodies-of-work, aided with a pictorial and romantic interest in the setting where intimate encounters are first seeded and overlapped while their conditions might change.

We are very happy to announce the residency of Alicia Jeannin, French-born Belgium-based artist who will be living and working in Bucharest for 2 months. She is our first guest in collaboration with Quote—Unquote platform on (public) speech, which will continue throughout the year. ☄️

Alicia works with sound, participative projects, public intervention and set design, exploring language and orality. In Bucharest, she's interested in exploring the performativity of political expression in the public space. Quite a topic! ⛳

Bucharest Air plunges into 2021 as a collaboration with Quote—Unquote international interdisciplinary platform on discursive practice and (public) speech. Quote—Unquote will be co-curating and co-organizing the residency around their own research topics and interests: the layers, mechanisms, effects and politics of language and voice, the aural imaginary, speech in the public sphere and many more.

Applications are now open (until November 1st) for artists and other practitioners interested to live and work for a few months in Bucharest during the first half of next year. All guidelines are now available on https://www.bucharestair.com and https://quoteunquoteplatform.com.
