Cristina Lilienfeld studied choreography and psychology and constantly searched for the space where these two disciplines meet. She's been working in Bucharest for the last 10 years collaborating with various choreographers and performers, as well as with visual artists and musicians, as she is part of different interdisciplinary art groups. She worked with different choreographers such as: Cosmin Manolescu, Alexandra Balasoiu, Valentina de Piante, Mihaela Alexandra Dancs, Madalina Dan, Andreea Novac, Smaranda Gabudeanu, Virginia Negru, Benno Voorham and recently in an international project coordonated by the well known choreographer Anjelin Preljocaj. Cristina also worked with visual artists: Dilmana Yordanova, Mihaela Kavdanska, Alina Usurelu etc., musicians: Diana Rotaru, Irinel Anghel, Vlaicu Golcea, KamerArt, LeVant, Fierbinteanu, writers: Razvan Tupa, Catalina Florescu, as well as various actors and directors. Cristina was the artistic director of PETEC Association between 2015 – 2020 supporting the production process for various performances from different fields such as: contemporary dance pieces, shadow theater plays, dance-videos, improvisation performances. From 2020 Cristina became a member of AREAL collective where together with Cosmin Manolescu, Alexandra Bălășoiu, Valentina de Piante. The AREAL space opened in March 2021 in Bucharest and is located in the center of the city. The space offers direct support to projects initiated by its founders and aims at increasing the cohesion within the choreographic field, to develop and attract new audience categories to contemporary dance. In 2020 Cristina received an award from the National Dance Center Bucharest for independent dance artists. Both her art and the workshops she coordinates, Cristina looks to bring out authenticity in every situation she encounters.
