This weekend, Mobius Gallery joins the 20th edition of NAG – White Night of the Galleries, a nationwide celebration of contemporary art taking place from 2 to 4 October 2026.

At Mobius, visitors can discover Gino Rubert: 'Absolute Beginners', the Spanish artist’s second solo exhibition with the gallery. Through his new mixed-media works, Gino Rubert creates a witty, erudite, and slightly uncanny universe where art history, personal narratives, and contemporary life meet.

Special NAG schedule:

- Friday, 2 October: 16:00–22:00

- Saturday, 3 October: 14:00–22:00 (Guided tour: 16:00–17:00)

- Sunday, 4 October: 14:00–20:00

We are proud that Michele Bressan is part of the latest exhibition at MARe. On view at MARe/Museum of Recent Art as part of 'Images of History, Histories of the Image', on show through May 2027.

The work: 'Pâine Albă' depicts a life-sized loaf of bread cast in porcelain tracing back to the collective imagery of the Eastern Bloc. Made in 2014, it draws on a very specific memory: the porcelain figurines once displayed with pride in glass cabinets across Romanian, and wider Eastern Bloc, living rooms.

Approx. 28×10×7cm, irregular form. Edition of 3, now part of MARe's private collection.

ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS is on view at Mobius Gallery until 10 October, Gino Rubert's second solo show with the gallery, three years after his first show in front of the Romanian audience.

Today at 16:00, join a guided tour of ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS, a closer look at Rubert's layered technique and the art-historical cast populating his canvases.

The Spanish artist returns with a new body of mixed-media works where Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Dalí, Duchamp and other icons of modern art share the same room, staged inside drawing academies and painters' studios like scenes from a theatre.

Now open at Mobius Gallery: ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS by Gino Rubert.

Thank you, everyone, for joining us for the opening night. We are proud to be able to bring international voices on the Romanian art scene and create a dialogue between cultures.

The exhibition is on view until 10 October 2026 at Piața Amzei 13, Bucharest.

In Absolute Beginners, each canvas becomes a small theatre: photographic collage, oil, acrylic, fabric, pins and found materials create vivid scenes where art history, desire, memory and mortality share the same stage.

Picasso, Duchamp, Frida Kahlo, Leonora Carrington, Remedios Varo, Dalí, Miró and Tàpies appear together as curious apprentices, always ready to begin again.

Opening today: ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS by Spanish artist Gino Rubert (Gino Rubert).

Join us from 18:00 to 21:00 at Piața Amzei 13, Bucharest, to discover the artist’s new show at Mobius Gallery. Returning to Bucharest for the second time, Rubert presents two complementary worlds.

On one side, dense, theatrical canvases where the whole history of painting is summoned onto a single stage and asked, disarmingly, to begin again. On the other, a quieter register: intimate portraits of solitary women whose solitude is anything but passive.

What does it mean to begin again? And if creation is an endless series of restarts, are we all, always, just beginners?
