We’re pleased to share ’s participation in ‘Tears That Laugh, Laughs That Cry’ on view at until the 21st of June.
The exhibition explores the fragile and often unstable space between two deeply human responses: tears and laughter. Rather than treating them as opposites, the curatorial text frames them as relational and transformative gestures, reactions that move beyond language and are shaped by memory, culture, ritual, and social codes. Within this context, the works on view open a space for reflection on emotion.
Tolici’s works contribute to this conversation through their strong emotional presence and ambiguity. One Laughter (2008) and Hypostasis 8 (2006) resonate with the exhibition’s broader inquiry into the instability of expression, where tenderness can border on unease, and humor can carry within it a sense of collapse.
