News from Some Where brings together participants from the Kontextuelle Praxis programme at AdBK München, whose artistic practices engage with politics of location, site-responsiveness, placemaking, language, materiality, and personal belonging. Developed in collaboration with the artist-run community space Atelierele Scânteia in Bucharest, the exhibition unfolds as a quiet yet insistent inquiry into how care - understood as responsiveness - can shape artistic practice. In turn, it explores how location informs speculative spaces, diasporic dispatches, and alternative terrains of storytelling and meaning-making. At its core, the exhibition proposes that care is not a passive sentiment, but a situated practice: a way of attending to overlooked spaces, histories and marginalized narratives.
Join us for the exhibition opening on July 4th at 18:00 at Scânteia Projects. The exhibition will be open to the public on weekends between 12:00 - 16:00, starting July 12th. On the first weekend, July 5th and 6th, visits are available by appointment.
During the Vernissage at 18:30, Camilla Prey will be hosting a performance, as part of her work “Plays in Place”
Starting at 21:00 we’re also having an afterparty at the Scânteia+ Terrace
