Romania IZIDOR Tour — Halfway Through!
Over the past 10 days, we’ve hosted six private screenings of Izidor in Cluj-Napoca and Timișoara, Romania—reaching nearly 350 viewers so far! We’re thrilled with the warm and thoughtful reception the film has received.
Our audiences have been incredibly diverse: government officials, social service professionals, university professors, high school teachers, adults and students with special needs, NGO workers, volunteers, church communities, and more.
Each event included a Q&A with Izidor Ruckel (author/producer), Sarah Padbury (writer/producer), and David Kabbe (director/producer). We were also joined at several events by Iosua Baru, the Romanian child actor who portrayed young Izidor. The questions have been insightful and have sparked powerful conversations.
Tomorrow, we head to Bucharest for major press interviews, followed by a special screening at the Museum of the Romanian Peasant. After the screening, Daniel Șandru, president of IICCMER, will join us on stage.
IICCMER—the Institute for the Investigation of Communist Crimes and the Memory of the Romanian Exile—is a government-affiliated institute established in 2009. It is dedicated to documenting the crimes of the communist era, preserving the history of Romanian exile, and promoting public awareness through research, education, and memorial efforts.
If you’re in BUCHAREST, don’t miss our screening this Wednesday at 8:00 PM! Join us for a meaningful evening and post-film discussion. Seats are limited, so reserve yours now! (Link in the first comment.)
