I wanted to do a run down schematics for my studio setup for a while now, since I have been asked about this in the past months.
Since I always wanted do to Mastering, at the core of the setup is the Dutch.Audio IM1.2, which is a mastering console which allows me to handle the order and the gain staging of my mastering setup. It is totally passive so there is no coloration added to the signal. I leave that to the gear units.
The Solaris is my choice of DA, which means this sets the tone of my mastering. The Anubis is my main AD and monitoring section. Meaning that with this unit I can record, however hot or cold I want a song, and I can control the monitoring from the touch screen: make it mono, dim the volume, solo the L or R etc.
Makes my life sooo much easier and it is easy on the ears. 😎
All the connections are analog using Grimm cables and custom made ones. The only thing digital in that setup is the way my computer talks to the speakers and the Anubis, which is via internet / Dante.
