Embassy of India in association with the Indian Cultural Centre celebrated the 80th Independence Day of day of India, on 15th August 2026 in the ICC premises. The celebration was attended by the Chargé d'Affaires to the State of Qatar Mr. Sandeep Kumar. First Secretaries Mr. Eish Singhal, Mr. Harish Pandey and other officials of the Embassy of India, Presidents of apex bodies, community leaders and a large number of Indian community members.

The ceremony commenced with a rendition of Vande Mataram. Chargé d'Affaires Mr. Sandeep Kumar hoisted the Indian flag on this occasion. It was followed by the national anthem of India. Mr. A.P. Manikantan, President of ICC, welcomed the guests and dignitaries followed by the opening remarks from ICC Vice President Mr. Shantanu Deshpande. A floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi was offered by the Chargé d'Affaires, commemorating the Father of the Nation. Mr. Sandeep Kumar was felicitated by the presidents of the apex bodies — Mr. A.P. Manikantan (ICC), Mr. Shanavas Bava (ICBF), Mr. E.P. Abdurahiman (ISC), and Mr. Thaha Muhammed (IBPC). In his speech, Chargé d'Affaires Mr. Sandeep Kumar relayed the message by the President of India.

Cultural programs were carried out to celebrate this occasion. As part of the Independence Day celebrations, the Top 10 performers from Qatar in the Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz Competition were felicitated. The winners of the Painting Competition, organised as part of the 80th Independence Day celebrations, were also felicitated on the occasion. Mr. Abraham Joseph, General Secretary of ICC, conveyed a Vote of thanks. The event was seamlessly hosted by Ms. Aafrin.

Indian Cultural Centre, in association with the ICC Film Club organised a Master Class & Interactive Session with Mr. Tamizh, Film Director, Writer and Actor on 1st August 2026 at ICC Mumbai Hall.

The program commenced with a welcome address by ICC Film Club ExCom Member Mr. Guru. ICC President Mr. A.P. Manikantan delivered the presidential address. ICC Film Club President Mr. Vimal Kumar introduced the guest speaker, Mr. Tamizh, and highlighted his remarkable contributions to the Indian film industry.

During the session, Mr. Tamizh shared his insights on Storytelling, Screenplay Writing, and Film Direction. He spoke about his experiences in the film industry and interacted with ICC Film Club members, answering their questions and sharing practical tips on filmmaking.

On the occasion, the Indian Cultural Centre felicitated Mr. Tamizh in recognition of his valuable contributions to Indian cinema.

The evening concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by ICC Film Club ExCom Member. The event was graced by ICC Vice President Mr. Shantanu Deshpande, ICC General Secretary Mr. Abraham K. Joseph, ICC Advisory Council Member Mr. Sathik Batcha and members of the ICC Film Club. The event was seamlessly hosted by Mr. Sudhagar.

Indian Cultural Centre (ICC), in association with the ICC Film Club, organized a Tribute to Legendary Singer S. Janaki Amma on Saturday, 25th July 2026, at ICC Mumbai Hall.

The program commenced with a welcome address by ICC Film Club ExCom Member Mr. Bheemappa, who welcomed the guests and dignitaries. Tributes and condolence messages were delivered by ICC President Mr. A.P. Manikantan, ICC General Secretary Mr. Abraham K. Joseph, ICC Head of In-house Activities Mr. Venkappa Bhagavatula, ICC Film Club President Mr. Vimal Kumar, and other members of the Indian community, who fondly remembered the remarkable musical legacy and immense contribution of S. Janaki Amma to Indian cinema and music.

The evening concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Abdulla, ICC Film Club ExCom Member.
