O que tornou a tarde ainda mais singular foi o facto de o concerto ter sido decidido "à última da hora", como revelou a coordenadora do projeto JOST e uma das fundadoras da orquestra na sua intervenção inicial. A decisão de realizar o evento partiu dos próprios músicos no dia anterior, num esforço para não deixar passar em branco a marca de um ano sem subirem ao palco juntos. O público, composto por familiares, amigos e fiéis apoiantes, respondeu prontamente ao chamado para uma noite que se revelou uma surpresa do início ao fim.

Durante a sua intervenção, a oradora recordou as origens da JOST, que remontam a 2017. O público respondeu com duas calorosas salvas de palmas, celebrando a memória de um músico que deixou uma marca indelével na orquestra.

On the 13th of July 2025, JOST celebrated its seventh anniversary with a memorable concert. The event, marked by an informal atmosphere and a strong sense of camaraderie, was a celebration not only of music but also of the friendship and resilience of a project that continues to inspire.

What made the afternoon all the more special was the fact that the concert was decided upon at the last minute, as the JOST project coordinator and one of the orchestra's founders revealed in her opening remarks. The decision to hold the event came from the musicians themselves the day before, in an effort not to let the milestone of a year without performing together pass by unnoticed. The audience, composed of family, friends, and loyal supporters, readily responded to the call for an evening that proved to be a surprise from beginning to end.

During her speech, the speaker recalled the origins of JOST, which date back to 2017. The project was born from a shared dream: to create a space where young musicians could continue to play together even after finishing their formal studies. The founding members, then around 11 years old, are now at university, scattered across different cities, which makes rehearsals a logistical challenge. Nevertheless, the will to keep the project alive remains strong.

One of the most touching moments of the event was the heartfelt tribute to Miguel Brandão, JOST's first pianist and a founding musician, who passed away the previous year. A Gratidão é um sentimento muito nobre, que tem o poder de ajudar a preencher alguns vazios que às vezes a vida nos impõe.

A Gratidão não só ajuda a avivar boas memórias, como a proporcionar o calor e o conforto da verdadeira amizade.

Aqueles que se dão aos outros ou às causas, partilhando desinteressadamente aquilo que de melhor têm para dar, devem ser alvo da nossa Gratidão.

O Miguel Brandão foi um dos primeiros a integrar a JOST. Um pianista divertido e rebelde que com o seu humor e boa disposição, mas também com a sua disponibilidade e grande musicalidade, contribuiu para que a JOST fosse não só um espaço de Música, mas também um espaço de amizade e afetos.

Hoje a JOST quer homenagear esse grande músico e amigo e agradecer-lhe tudo o que fez por este fantástico grupo.

Brandão, onde quer que estejas, estarás sempre na nossa memória e no nosso coração. OBRIGADO!

Unir o Tejo ao Douro pela Estrada Nacional 2 foi conseguido através da música. A música, com esse poder enorme de unir e aproximar distâncias, proporcionou um dia que ficará para sempre na memória de quem participou neste projeto.

No coração do Alto Douro, a freguesia da Cumieira foi palco de um evento que ficará gravado na memória de duas comunidades. A Jovem Orquestra Sinfónica do Tejo, após uma longa e desafiadora viagem, uniu-se à Banda Musical da Cumieira para um concerto que emocionou e encantou os presentes.
A jornada da Orquestra JOST até à Cumieira não foi fácil. Enfrentando várias dificuldades logísticas antes do evento, a determinação da equipa foi inegável. Contudo, cada obstáculo foi superado com resiliência, motivados pela promessa de um concerto inesquecível.
A chegada da orquestra foi recebida com enorme carinho pela formação musical anfitriã e pela população do Alto Douro. Os habitantes locais acolheram os músicos calorosamente, mostrando a hospitalidade típica da região. Desde a preparação até aos ensaios, a comunidade da Cumieira fez questão de estar presente, apoiando e incentivando cada nota tocada. Este espírito de união e colaboração entre a população e os músicos criou uma atmosfera mágica que culminou na noite do concerto.
Durante a preparação do evento, o espírito de entreajuda e acolhimento foi evidente. Os membros da BMC e da JOST trabalharam afincadamente para o objectivo comum. O apoio mútuo e a cooperação criaram um ambiente de amizade que transcendeu a música.
O evento em si foi um espetáculo que correspondeu totalmente às expectativas. A Banda Musical da Cumieira, conhecida pelo seu talento e paixão, e a Orquestra JOST, conhecida pela sua frescura e voluntarismo, proporcionaram uma ‘performance’ brilhante que prendeu a atenção dos espectadores.
Os sons harmoniosos das duas formações musicais ecoaram pelas encostas do rio Corgo, criando um cenário de sonho que tocou profundamente todos os corações presentes. Foi um encontro de melodias que celebraram não só a música, mas também a cultura e a beleza da região.
Este evento destacou a importância da música como uma força unificadora e inspiradora, capaz de transcender barreiras e criar momentos inesquecíveis. A parceria entre a JOST e a BMC não só encantou o público, mas também fortaleceu os laços culturais e comunitários das duas regiões unidas pela pitoresca rodovia E.N. 2.

The journey of the JOST Orchestra to Cumieira was not easy. Facing various logistical difficulties before the event, the team's determination was undeniable. However, each obstacle was overcome with resilience, motivated by the promise of an unforgettable concert.
The arrival of the orchestra was warmly received by the host musical group and the population of the Alto Douro. The locals welcomed the musicians warmly, showing the region's typical hospitality. From the preparation to the rehearsals, the Cumieira community made sure to be present, supporting and encouraging every note played. This spirit of unity and collaboration between the population and the musicians created a magical atmosphere that culminated on the night of the concert.
During the preparation of the event, the spirit of mutual help and hospitality was evident. The members of the BMC and JOST worked tirelessly towards the common goal. The mutual support and cooperation created an environment of friendship that transcended music.
