Algo que muitos já esqueceram... e que outros nunca aprenderam...
O hobby é para tirarmos proveito dele e satisfação...

You don’t have to earn the right to enjoy this.

Somewhere along the line, a hobby became a courtroom.

People worry that they aren’t experienced enough.

Their camouflage isn’t accurate enough.

Their blending isn’t smooth enough.

They don’t own the right paints.

They don’t paint quickly enough.

And somewhere in the back of their minds, they can already hear the murmurs from the gallery.

The verdict.

Someone, somewhere, ready to point out what they’ve done wrong.

The strange thing is that many people don’t even feel equipped to argue back.

They don’t have the historical references memorised.

They don’t know the terminology.

They simply know what they see.

What they enjoy.

What feels believable to them.

So they hesitate.

They repaint.

They overthink.

They wait until they’re “good enough.”

They wait until they’ve earned the right to enjoy themselves.

But creativity doesn’t work that way.

The workbench isn’t a court of law.

You aren’t on trial.

You don’t have to justify why you paint.

You don’t need permission to prioritise atmosphere over precision, storytelling over regulation, or enjoyment over perfection.

If exact historical accuracy brings you joy, embrace it wholeheartedly.

If believable reality, mood and interpretation excite you more, embrace that too.

There isn’t only one way to participate in this hobby.

For me, painting has been far more than simply applying colour to miniature figures. At difficult times in my life, it provided focus, calm, purpose and a place where the noise quietened for a while.

I know I’m not alone in that.

The workbench is a place to learn.

To create.

To rest.

To express yourself.

To make mistakes.

To improve.

To surprise yourself.

And, perhaps most importantly…

To enjoy yourself.

You don’t have to earn that.

You already have it.

Ignore the murmurs from the gallery.

The verdict was never theirs to give.

You’re free to paint whatever you want, how you want.
