A Bang Bike leva a projeção para o espaço urbano e transforma cada rua, cada parede e cada percurso numa tela com várias animações.

Matthew Watkins, artista, ilustrador, designer e orador. Detentor de um estilo único, tem vindo a mostrar ao Mundo como a tecnologia se pode aliar à arte, resultando numa autêntica injeção de cultura e animação. Ao longo da sua carreira, tem participado em diversos festivais e exposições mundiais, tais como Alberobello International Light Festival, Festival di Illustrazione e Dintorni, Digital Cities: Explorations of Video Mapping. Matthew Watkins, Uncontainable Art, TEDx, entre outros.

Junta-te a esta masterclass e vem descobrir truques, desafios e muitas das etapas por detrás de uma produção de animação 2D.

Como é, na prática, trabalhar como animador 2D numa produção internacional? Através de exemplos reais de projetos como Scavengers Reign, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Street Fightere outras produções, João Monteiro vai levar o público aos bastidores do processo de animação — desde a receção de um plano e a interpretação dos storyboards, passando pela animação, pelas várias fases de feedback e aprovação, pela colaboração com realizadores e equipas de produção, até aos desafios e à realidade de trabalhar remotamente com estúdios internacionais.

João Monteiro é realizador de Animação e Animador 2D, com experiência em curtas-metragens, longas-metragens, séries de televisão e publicidade. Colaborou com estúdios como a Titmouse, HBO, Netflix, Sony, Disney e Blizzard.

On September 26, we welcome the masterclass “The Process of a 2D Animation Production” with João Monteiro!

What is it really like to work as a 2D animator on an international production? Through real examples from projects such as Scavengers Reign, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Street Fighter, and other productions, João Monteiro will take the audience behind the scenes of the animation process — from receiving a shot and interpreting storyboards, through animation, the various stages of feedback and approval, and collaboration with directors and production teams, to the challenges and realities of working remotely with international studios.
João Monteiro is an Animation Director and 2D Animator with experience in short films, feature films, television series, and advertising. He has collaborated with studios such as Titmouse, HBO, Netflix, Sony, Disney, and Blizzard.

Bang Emerging Creators

O filme “Nós somos humanos”, realizado pelas crianças das oficinas do ANILUPA da Associação de Ludotecas do Porto, foi o filme mais votado online.

Parabéns a toda a equipa!

O filme transmite de forma muito especial o tema desta edição do festival: “Youmanization”.

O filme convida o público a ouvir a voz das crianças, sobre aquilo que nos torna verdadeiramente humanos: o corpo, as emoções, a criatividade, a amizade e o respeito pelas diferenças. A importância de valorizar cada criança, os seus sonhos e a sua maneira única de olhar para o mundo.

Um retrato ingénuo da nossa essência que convida à reflexão sobre o valor de sermos únicos, capazes de sonhar e amar.

Obrigado a todos os realizadores que participaram e a todo o público que votou nos filmes da competição online!

A cerimónia de entrega de prémios do festival será realizada no dia 26 de Setembro, no Parque do Choupal onde serão revelados os vencedores do festival.

Bang Emerging Creators

The online voting has now closed, and we have the winner of the film that received the most votes from the public!

The film “We Are Human”, made by the children who took part in the ANILUPA workshops run by the Associação de Ludotecas do Porto, received the most online votes.

Congratulations to the whole team! 💘

The film conveys the theme of this year’s festival in a very special way: “Youmanization”.

The film invites audiences to listen to children’s voices and reflect on what truly makes us human: the body, emotions, creativity, friendship, and respect for differences. It highlights the importance of valuing every child, their dreams, and their unique way of seeing the world.

An innocent portrait of our essence that invites us to reflect on the value of being unique, capable of dreaming and loving.

Thank you to all the filmmakers who took part and to everyone who voted for the films in the online competition!
