As tradicionais Missa e Procissão em honra de Santa Luzia são um marco das Festas dos Pescadores. Todos os anos, este é um momento de profunda devoção, introspeção e expressão da fé comunitária. Santa Luzia não é apenas um nome, é uma figura que representa uma terra, um povo, uma forma de vida.
Acompanhada pela Banda Musical de Tavira, a procissão saiu pelas ruas de Santa Luzia, seguindo até ao cais, onde decorreu a bênção aos pescadores e embarcações. A imagem de Santa Luzia acompanhou depois o cortejo pela Ria. À sua volta, as pessoas juntaram-se em comunhão, unidas por um sentimento único.
De regresso à Igreja, a procissão terminou com um espetáculo pirotécnico que pintou o céu de várias cores, encerrando esta tradição com um peso histórico e religioso inigualável. A todos os presentes, o nosso mais profundo obrigado.
The traditional Mass and Procession in honour of Santa Luzia are a highlight of the ‘Festas dos Pescadores’. Every year, this is a moment of deep devotion, introspection and an expression of the community’s faith. Santa Luzia is not just a name; it is a figure who embodies a land, a community and a way of life.
Accompanied by the Tavira Band, the procession made its way through the streets of Santa Luzia, heading to the pier, where the blessing of the fishermen and their boats took place. The statue of Santa Luzia then accompanied the procession along the Ria. All around, people gathered in communion, united by a shared sense of purpose.
Back at the church, the procession concluded with a fireworks display that lit up the sky in a burst of colour, bringing this tradition of unparalleled historical and religious significance to a close. To everyone present, our deepest gratitude.
