Rejuvenating Movement Workshop
Our body/mind is flexible, strong and has the power to rejuvenate itself if we manage to give body/mind a space and a trust to do so!

The workshop aims to promote basic well-being physically/mentally/interpersonally/environmentally, using exercises derived from different practices (Nogushi gymnastics, Noguchi seitai katsugen, acupuncture points/meridian studies, etc) to observe, loosen-up, stretch, discharge and charge, adjust and align, and rejuvenate!

It also includes a movement improvisation towards the end of the session, to assimilate and to create landscape together.

Inspiring lighting-design workshop -　how to create effective lighting with accessible materials

In this 2-day workshop, we explore the expressive power of light using simple materials — lamps, candles, sunlight — and rediscover how everyday objects can become tools for creation. 💡

Come experiment, observe, and create with light as a living language.



BEE BARROS (the teacher!)
Bee é artista multidisciplinar, com formação em Design pela UFPE e intercâmbio na Parsons (NY), onde teve contato com diferentes práticas de criação e colaborou em produções da Broadway e do cinema. Sua trajetória cruza artes visuais, design e artes performativas, com experiência em mixagem de vídeo, fabricação digital, iluminação e montagem de espetáculos. Entre 2016 e 2018, integrou a equipe do Fab Lab Recife como responsável pela área de design. Imigrou para Portugal em 2019 e logo voltou a se aproximar das artes performativas; em 2022 integrou a equipe da Rua das Gaivotas 6 como estagiárie em coordenação técnica, e desde 2024 participa do grupo de estudo em iluminação cênica Matéria Leve. Atualmente, trabalha principalmente com iluminação para espetáculos e performances, além de desenvolver experimentações com VJing e live coding em projetos colaborativos e experimentais.

Bee is a multidisciplinary artist with a degree in Design from UFPE and an exchange programme at Parsons (NY), where they were exposed to different creative practices and collaborated on Broadway and film productions. Their career spans visual arts, design and performing arts, with experience in video mixing, digital fabrication, lighting and show staging. Between 2016 and 2018, They were part of the Fab Lab Recife team, responsible for the design field. They moved to Portugal in 2019 and soon returned to the performing arts; in 2022, they joined the Rua das Gaivotas 6 team as an intern in technical coordination, and since 2024 they have participated in the Matéria Leve scenic lighting study group. They currently work mainly in the field of lighting for shows and performances, as well as developing experiments with VJing and live coding in collaborative and experimental projects.

"ALONG THE MERIDIAN RIVERS - a traveler"

The piece explores body and life as a passage, meridians (in Chinese medicine) as rivers and acupuncture points as ports, where connections, communications, meeting, crossing, and voyages can happen. The performance aims to be also a topological playground of ever-changing constellations with acupuncture points as stars. It starts as a solo performance and ends in an invitation for a play of connections through these stars (acupuncture points) and rivers (meridians).

So good to finally meet you! On this milky way running through our body.

De 9 a 11 de outubro, 10.00-14.00, o Centro de Criação e Investigação Nuisis Zobop no Espaço Agra recebe a coreógrafa e bailarina japonesa Yuko Kominami para a realização de um workshop intensivo de Butoh.

“Nevoeiro, pólen, fantasma e fumo são elementos que podem conter as chaves para o processo de evaporação — o processo de desaparecer. Passar por este processo é avançar em direção a “uma coisa que está a desaparecer e a nascer ao mesmo tempo” (Natsu Nakajima). Este corpo frágil e débil, que ao mais ligeiro toque pode desmoronar-se e transformar-se, será ele um corpo em crise?
Neste lugar de crise, há sempre um odor de Eros no ar. Pode haver dança depois das ruínas?
“O corpo morto que se mantém desesperadamente de pé, arriscando a própria vida” (Tatsumi Hijikata) — um lugar de vida onde a morte espreita e, ao mesmo tempo, um lugar de morte onde a vida cintila. É a partir deste espaço que deve nascer uma dança. Uma dança que, por acaso, ultrapassa o impossível.
Para investigar este corpo frágil em crise, onde a dança pode emergir com mais liberdade, o workshop concentra-se nos elementos nevoeiro, pólen, fantasma e fumo, aplicando diferentes exercícios de “tornar-se” estes elementos.”
