The Nyahbinghi opening ceremony at the Dub Temple marks the beginning of seven days of Word, Sound and Power. The rhythms of the funde, repeater, and thunder drums resonate deeply, blessing the entire festival grounds.

It is a moment of unity, where we come together in balance and connect with the livity of our R. C. Y. - RASTAFARICULTURALYARD FAMILY brothers and sisters. This opening gathering sets the foundation for the days ahead, an offering of presence, grounding, and collective spirit.

Portugal’s artists at the Dub Temple 🔥 Da Lion Music 🌍 on a Live Dub Mix, alongside Edu Dudah on the mic!

Da Lion Music is a roots reggae–focused label and production house from Vale da Amoreira, Portugal, led by producer and musician Nuno “Da Lion” Florêncio. Active since 2010, the project puts roots reggae at the center, combining live instrumentation, deep basslines and spiritually conscious lyrics with a modern, high‑fidelity sound.
Working both as an independent label and studio, Da Lion Music releases original roots reggae singles, EPs and albums.
The catalog includes collaborations with respected artists such as Akae Beka, Jah Defender, Prince Wadada, Norris Man, Arkaingelle, Ras Indio, Dudjah, Rubera Roots and others, reflecting a bridge between the Portuguese scene and the wider international reggae community.

Alongside its strong roots foundation, Da Lion Music embraces dub as a natural extension of its work, exploring version culture, space and echoes through dub mixes, versions and live dub sets. This balance between song‑centered roots reggae and exploratory dub keeps the focus on message and emotion while opening room for experimentation and sound system energy.

Joined by Dudjah on the microphone, Da Lion Music 🌍 will perform a live dub mix session, make sure you don’t miss one of Portugal’s top producers.

The amazing duo coming straight out of the UK, Creation Rebel Sound System with , is taking over the Roots Garden.

Creation Rebel is a reggae, roots, and dub sound system hailing from London. Under the banner of Channel One for over 10 years and as part of the team at Lion Vibes record shop, Creation Rebel delivers deep and spiritual roots music, keeping the fundamental traditions of sound system culture alive. Coupled with some of the iconic Channel One Sound System boxes, Creation Rebel’s powerful rig and an archive of reggae spanning from the 1960s to the present day come to uplift the heart, mind, and soul.
Since the 1980s, Terry has been at the heart of the UK’s Rastafarian movement through roots music, with endless passion and commitment. Having played alongside Shaka, Channel One, and many others, Terry represents the foundation of today’s aspiring sound systems.

Sista Awa blessing with her music and voice the Dub Temple on Friday night ✨

Awa Fall is an internationally acclaimed soul-reggae artist. She is a particularly gifted singer in all genres of black music including soul, rnb, blues and rap.

Born in Bergamo, Italy in 1996 to a Senegalese father and an Italian mother; Awa began performing at the age of fourteen in a musical project for guitar and voice together with her aunt Valentina called “Shame and Skandal” where the two performed throughout Italy.

Then, at the age of eighteen, Awa decided to start her solo project and released her first solo album “Inna Dis Ya Iwa” in 2016. Supported by the reggae band “The Eazy Skankers”, her new band “The Smoke Orchestra” or with her project “Women Soldiers”, Awa has toured and performed at all the biggest festivals on the continent such as Rototom (Spain), Uspiring (Slovakia), Overjam (Slovenia), Africa Festival (Germany) and many others.

Wicked Steppa is a sound system collective founded in 2013 in the mountains of Haut-Doubs by a group of friends, who are passionate about reggae and to dedicated to sound system culture.

Together, they built a meticulously-designed handcrafted sound system, capable of delivering a truly unique auditory accoustic experience. Thanks to their passion and technical expertise, their setup is a sonic powerhouse: powerful, precise, and capable of shaking up any session.

The crew consists of an operator W***y, a selector Cyril, and an MC Afi, which provide a stand out with their boundless energy and authentic approach to reggae dub, blending precise selections with their homemade productions. Wicked Steppa is synonymous with explosive sessions, where every event becomes an unforgettable experience.

For over 10 years, they’ve toured across France and Europe, spreading vibrant, meaningful, and authentic music, while creating an unbreakable connection with audiences and fellow artists. Humility and passion are the driving forces behind this crew, ready to make walls shake and light up every dance floor with their powerful, one-of-a-kind vibes.

Discover the art of Crochet with 🪡

I’m Sofia. I started crochet when I was little with my grandma but was in 2017 that I’ve I fallen in love with it again! Since then I couldn’t stop knotting yarn and I’m making, garments, accessories, keychains etc. I love Crochet because you can make almost everything starting from a little thread. Is It kind of meditation and is very versatile. You can make it everywhere. I love Crochet also because is basically zero waste! Never throw away a piece of yarn! I’m also a tailor, and I’ve been doing workshops or lessons since 3 years ago! I’m very concerned about environment, and the impact of fashion. That’s why I love upcycling, recycling, using dead stock of yarn or fabric, buying local and secondhand.

A little change has occurred and will be with Kologne at the River Station on the second day of the festival, powered by ✨

Slimmah Sound is a reggae and dub producer from Groningen, Netherlands, known for his warm, rootsy sound. With a discography spanning more then twenty years of releases on both his own Roots Tribe label and other well known imprints like King Shiloh, Chouette, Deep Root and many more Slimmah Sound music is known as a force to be reckoned with.

The performance at the HIM festival will be a showcase together with Kologne. Kologne (born Oral Kirk Brown) is a reggae artist from Linstead, Jamaica, known for his conscious, roots-inspired sound. He began his professional music career in 1998, working with legendary producer Fatis Burrell.

Kologne gained international recognition through European tours with Sizzla in 2007 and 2008. His releases include the EP Easy Off (2018), the album A New Chapter (2019), and the EP Brain Food (2022). He is currently preparing a new album for release in 2026, combining classic roots reggae with modern influences.

Over the years, he has collaborated with producers such as Alpha Steppa, Charmax Black, Redemption, Thompson Sounds, System Sounds, Forward Fever, Mo Productions, Tabath Productions, and Tattoo Records.

Afrikan Warriors Sound System is a roots-driven collective dedicated to spreading conscious reggae, dub, and pan-African messages through powerful sound system culture. Known for their deep basslines, militant rhythms, and spiritually uplifting selections, the crew embodies the essence of traditional sound system sessions while bringing a fresh, global perspective.

At the forefront stands Bakuba I, also known as Jolof Warrior, a dynamic vocalist, MC, and cultural messenger whose style blends roots reggae chanting with Afrocentric lyricism. His delivery carries both fire and wisdom, addressing themes of identity, resistance, unity, and ancestral heritage.

Together, Afrikan Warriors Sound System and Bakuba I create an immersive experience that goes beyond music. Their sessions are a call to consciousness, bridging Africa and the diaspora through sound, vibration, and message. Whether on stage or in a traditional sound system setting, they bring a powerful presence that resonates with lovers of authentic roots and dub culture worldwide.
