Theme: Spinal Mobility : Biomechanics into CI
In this class, we will explore the mobility of the spine through a biomechanical lens, shedding light on how the spine plays a key role in the mobility of the body as a whole.
Through movement research, bodywork, duets, and group dynamics, we will bring this exploration into the sphere of Contact Improvisation and investigate how a more available, articulate spine allows us to expand our range of motion, enrich the playfulness of our dance, and revisit our movement patterns.
This class aims to nourish our Contact Improvisation practice through embodied anatomy, while also supporting the adaptability, ease, and lightness of our movements.
Marion Guiraud
Marion is a dancer from Paris, France. She has spent the past ten years practicing, researching, and training in movement disciplines including contemporary and traditional African dances, yoga, capoeira, qi gong and contact improvisation.
She has been facilitating regular dance classes and workshops, mostly in Barcelona, using biomechanics, somatics, and Contact Improvisation as her main tools to explore, expand, and understand the body’s mobility —on its own, in space, and with others.
